Hey guys just wondering how's it going, and who was still around. Haven't been here as much, been spending my forum time over at mmo-champion DK forums (rerolling DK and playing it on beta).

I can't really say lawl ret anymore can I? :(

Not all of them, but it's a good step.

Personally, I think playing Holy is still going to be a blast. Regardless if you go deep holy, or Holy/Ret.

Dil - so are you trading in your Hunter for a DK? :)

We're looking pretty good for the xpac. Except Holy. Holy is doing fairly lacklustre at the moment.

Ret's booming, though. Looks like tons of fun.

Yeah, I apologize for that, been using alla since my FFXI days (had an account with at least as many posts as this account, if not more), much love for this place. I'm in my last semester of my IT degree and my senior project + a lot other BS is just kicking my tail right now.

I am. Not because DK is zomg DK cool or anything like that, it's more a stab at the changes they're making to hunter. I was completely excited when they announced the big thing hunters were getting was Camouflage which the original version was basically cloak of shadows rolled up with stealth on a 5 minute cooldown (a stealth cow? what's not to like). Latest build though has all hunters running around with a devilsaur (or even worse a core hound from MC) which I find just silly and instead of camouflage, they get a ranged ice trap which is worthless in 99% of situations.

Yeah I just didn't like what they're doing to hunters, so I decided to give DK a shot. Been playing beta since early on testing out every single spec and learning rotations and tricks and all sorts of stuff. That and helping others put builds together and answer dumb questions about DKs (press 1 for horse). I had been spending a lot of time over at MMO champion because that's where the latest information was, but now I've come back and started infesting the DK forums here, though it does seem to get less traffic than MMO.

I guess I am somewhat of a regular now. Haven't been in Beta or the PTR... still trying to get my first and only 70 to get Kara on farm and see some more content (ZA, Gruul's, Mag's, maybe a little SSC) before WOTLK comes out. Getting pretty good at heroics too!

Infusion of Light -- now affects Flash of Light or Holy Light. Flash of Light is reduced to 0 cast time with 2 ranks, meaning that if you're running around and get a Holy Shock crit, you can also Flash without stopping.

Best change ever! I'm gonna spec for this ... so I can go streaking in Bgs! :D Who's with me?!

Serious note:

About god damn time. Now, where's my single target Taunt? Hell, I'd settle for a Growl :P

I can tell you from experience on beta, healing is going to be a problem if things don't change. Nearly every single paladin is ret, nearly every single druid is a boomkin. Most of the time I find a healer it's a shadow priest that is willing to respec for the group (even though most refuse to and will only play as shadow) or it's a shaman.

With the addition of DKs, tanks are plentiful. Actually, there are so many people wanting to be tanks, it has let me dps as a DK more often than I expected to. I've been willing to respec and tank, but in most cases I haven't needed to. I have waited upwards of 20-30 minutes for a healer when it only took me about 20 seconds to get a tank and 3 dps.

From something Ghostcrawler had written I get the impression that none of the healers are happy with the way they're being retooled, but the only class I've really been keeping up with is Paladin.

To be honest it's hard to sift through the QQage. I don't envy GC. EVERY CLASS think that they don't do enough and that the class over there is doing too much. EVERY CLASS think they're now the worst tank or lowest dps, and that group over there is so good they need to be nerfed.

That said, in my own sifting and BS-cutting the main problem comes down to a lack of anything eye-grabbing as well as major problems with mana since you can only use one potion a fight, and are not able to downrank. I really think those two issues are the main reasons you're not seeing as many healers.

I've essentially quit the game (again) this time feels a little more permanent than the last time. I couldn't play the beta but I played around on the PTR, felt like a little god even in my not-so-great Ret set. Solod up to Mana Tombs lol, didn't even try Crypts or OHB, though that would have been interesting. Did Ramps in 30 mins...

Almost got a job here on Alla, got a couple interviews for the CM position, but it didn't work out (obviously). So to focus more on school, since it's MY last year in school as well, I don't plan on playing at all, don't really feel much of a drive to, and I had my PTR fun.

That's pretty much where I'm at. Tool is updating my FAQ to include WotLK content, and I'll probably continue to lurk around here and there.

You should totally join me on frostmane for the expansion jack, you know you're not going to truly quit, stop kidding yourself. You graduating college or high school?

Dear CapJack,

Wish you had gotten the Alla job, I think you would have been a great addition to their team!

Good luck in the last year of school, you will do well.

Tool will do a GREAT job with the FAQ and I am sure you will still provide him some of your input. The rest of the Paladins here will also make great posts and suggestions as usual!

Please keep lurking, we love your posts!

When the urge hits you to play again (and it WILL, trust me), we will be eagerly awaiting your return.

Cheers!

I'm graduating College, getting my degree in Computer Science. This last year is the only one that's really been challenging me, so I'm trying to put all my efforts into it as much as I can. So far I've been doing pretty well with it.

Only reason I might go back to the game is that my girlfriend had a marked interest in the game and so I showed her around. When I had her make her own character (without any guidance from me) she made a Female BE Paladin... I almost cried lol. So I might play casually with her while doing school, but I don't want to devote the time and effort into the game that I used to.

Well the offer still stands. My current guild does have a solid raiding core (or did til I put it on pause) but we also had people that were in the guild to just hang out and who didn't raid. As long as you joined under those pretenses (as opposed to joining to be a full-time raider then never showing up) there was never any requirement to be online or show up to anything. It's cool like that. You can be a hardcore raider, or you can just sign on and see who's around, whatever floats your boat.

I used to be CS til computer architecture and this professor that said it was his job to weed out people from the CS major. Well I was one of the last ones he weeded out before he retired. lol Anyway, I switched to IT. I always preferred messing with hardware more than programming anyway (not to say I can't program, I just prefer other things).
