Question for leveling rouge at lvl 59Follow

#1 Oct 04 2008 at 12:37 PM Rating: Good
First i would like to say thanks for taking the time to read my post. I have read the forums and guides, still i feel my question kinda falls between the cracks of that.

You see i am leveling up my rouge to 70 in expectation for the expac and i am honestly having a blast. But i would like some insight on what i potentially could be doing wrong

First i leveled combat swords as per the directions on many guides and personal opinions. then once i was high enough level to pick up shadow step i figured i would try the subtly spec out.
Wow i must say that shadow step is awesome as is preparation. I would rock dual swords with my subtly spec, my main kill rotation would be this.

Shadow step behind the mob, cheap shot, hemo hemo hemo (till 4 or 5 combo points) then eviscerate. Usually this was enough to kill the mobs. and i have never really had a problem with killing mobs within the stun of cheap shot.

However as i have gotten some green daggers in my new outlands experiences i decided to try them out. My rotation now is shadow step, ambush, hemo, hemo till 4 or 5 combo points then eviscerate.

However im not really liking daggers all that much because i cant pickpocket autoloot with ambush for some reason. and cheap shot seems to work really well. also i tend to enjoy swords more.

So with that said is there anything wrong with leveling shadow step with swords and just rocking the ss cheap shot hemo eviserate combo?

Is there anything i could be doing better?

thanks for your time and tips.

As has been posted thousands of times:

Hemo is not supposed to be used with daggers.

Ambush builds make poor leveling builds.

Combat is the best leveling build until mutilate doesn't have a positional requirement (i.e. patch 3.0.2).

My apologies. I do however know that hemo is not good with daggers.

But would using it with swords for leveling be a good idea?

You see theo i was hoping to get to 70 with the spec i wanted to pvp in. kinda gain a good memory for all the skills and buttons for it before i pvp.

at least that is my hope.

Do as you choose honestly, its your game, do what makes it fun for you.

Also though, ShS build is really fun and if you happen to be on a pvp server then you have the options of kicking *** when it arises. For dungeons and such, you will be helpful with CC for saps if your specced into improved sap talent, but your overall damage will suck (not really a big issue when grinding lvls if your good at being a rogue).

As before, just have fun with it. I lvld up as mutilate till 68 then went to ShS, then finally did Combat for raids. Also Swords,Fists,Mace for ShS ,slow main (high dps), fast offhand.
Some pop up just took up half my screen from this pages investors or w/e its called so its hard to do a sentence properly. Anywho, have fun with your game now, its going to change soon and it seems most build will be viable for anything if talent points are parsed out proportionately.

If you don't suck you don't need improved stealth for sapping in instances.

Stay with hemo swords for now, read the build thread on what to do in 2 weeks when the new talents are available.

Yes, but technically you want a high average damage.
