Bumping your own thread won't help you and will just annoy people.

Nobody knows what to pick yet, the expansion isn't out for us either. Small details and mechanics are going to change between beta now and its release. Just choose whichever race you can stand to look at for as many levels as you decide to play it. Unless you're looking to do seriously high end raiding or PvP then racial details won't make much difference. Pick whatever you prefer.

Choose a race/sex that you will enjoy playing. ALL Death Knights get good armor starting out. Asking the forum to choose for you is an exercise in futility. Especially since it's a stupid question to begin with - Instead of asking "LULZ! WATS THE BESTEST CALSS??!1!" you're asking "LULZ! WATS THE BESTEST RAYCE??!1!"

Well I think it's just a matter of what you like. Like the above post said racials make only small differences and are hardly even noticed by the casual gamer.

I personally plan on either making a female human or gnome, why? because I don't have any high level toons of the race and my reasoning is as simple as that : )

Anyways GL hope you can wait the month!

If you live on a PvP server and really care about winning, I'd choose Gnome or Night Elf. For me personally it'd be Night Elf, simply because I hate Gnomes. For PvP utility, Gnomes have a great racial (Escape Artist); for PvP and PvE, Night Elves have 3% nature resistance/2% dodge (for tanking) and Shadowmeld which allows you to stealth while stationary.

If you're a PvE guy, I'd choose Human hands down.

All that said, you should choose whatever race you like the look of and will enjoy playing, as stated above. In the end racials dont make a helluva lot of difference in the long run, and it's much more important to have a character who you like the look and feel of.

Be unique! Pick a Gnome!

Edit: As per Patch 3.0.2, or whatever it's called, Humans now also get a racial called Every Man For Himself, which works just like the PvP trinket and is on a 2-minute cooldown. Unfortunately it shares CD with the trinket and other such things.

Yeah the trinket is useless.. it's cooldown is longer the the racial.

I know you can pick a DK up if you have a class above 55, and you can only have one DK class per server, but if you have only one faction class above 55 (for normal servers), does that mean you cannot make a oppisite faction DK same server?

I'm 99.5% sure that faction of the 55+ character doesn't matter on normal servers. They just don't want brand new players making the class.

If I were alliance (and thank god I'm not), I would probably end up going human just for the sword specialization and the increased rep. Shadow meld would be tempting, but it would be so situational, I don't know how much it'd be used. The avoidance things NE have are really nice for tanking, but wouldn't be used while dpsing.

That said, horde is way better. :)

for alliance,

human: sword and mace expertise (+3), spirit bonus, rep gain bonus (huge), slight increase in stealth detection i think ( i know perception is gone), and pvp-type trinket in pve. a very solid choice for dps pvp or tanking. The only thing i could argue against is if their trinket ability shares a CD w/the 2 minute trinket, and you are a pvp min-maxer you would want the 40k honor trinket for the extra resilence.

dwarf: treasurefinding, stoneform, mace specialization (+5) frost resist.
great for tanking and ok for pvp because stoneform breaks bleed/poison/disease effects. for max benefits you're pidgeonholed into 2h maces. dont know how easy it will be to obtain them. a fairly solid tanking race

gnome: escape artist, expansive mind, arcane resist.
very subpar for pve. the mind will give very little to spell crit cause DK have so little. arcane resist can be decent but too situational. escape artist for pvp can be great because DKs have trouble with classes snaring them.

night elf: shadowmeld (vanish-like effect), quickness (reduces chance to be hit 2%), wisp, elusiveness, nature resist.
best pve tank build, decently good for pvp as well. dps not so great. shadowmeld is awesome for pvp and for solo pve when you need to get something off of you. if you pull hate as a DPS you can use it to hopefully get some time for the tank to regain aggro. this is the best pve tank build because of quickness and nature resist.

draenai: 1% bonus to spell and magic hit rate, gift of the naaru, shadow resist.
decent. overall decent. not bad at all because the 1% bonus to hit works for spells and melee for the whole party and compared to the expertise talents it lets you use any weapon. the benefit isnt as good as expertise for a tank though. gift of the naaru is a great solo talent, and for a dps dk its very good too.
because heroic presence doesnt stack, most raids usually have a draenai in them anyways for heroism, so really this wont bring much for a tank. in pvp kinda either way.

personally i'd go human or night elf.

I don't think that you can make a DK if you don't have a toon 55 of that faction. The reason I say this is that the DK class is showing up in the char. creation screen (non selectable) for horde, but not ally for me. I might be looking at this wrong, or it might have changed since I looked at it, but I believe this is the case.

Human for PvP, and dwarf or night elf for PvE, I think. Perhaps draenei, but I'm never sold on draenei.

You're right. Absolutely nobody is going to think, "Hey this class is leik pure evilz and stuffs, so lets make it a girly gnome keke with pink hair lol!11!!!eleven!1!1!!!"

Nobody's though of that before. Nope. Of course not. Not on this internetz.

Sorry, but gnomes annoy me, and gnome DKs are just... wrong.

Gnomes are probably the worst possible racial choice for a death knight, so all those wishing for minute pink-haired deathbringers will regret their actions later on.

Humans are, at the moment, the best pvp race for Alliance and about even for PvE. The ability to swap out a pvp trinket for a DPS trinket is huge and perception isnt too bad either for rogues/druids. The sword expertise and faster rep gain is always a nice boost and the odd trinket fight can be done without said trinket now.

I think I prefer the new human racials. Perception was entirely broken in Arena, but that was basically the only place it was useful. EMFH is like always having a PvP trinket on you, plus freeing up a slot for a passive trinket along with a +AP trinket.

Now they just need to revamp dwarves so that they can turn into huge stone god-men...

I'm going human. :D Gnomes annoy me as well. Nelf..meh humans got what I want in a dk. Sword spec. And the new racial is nice. If I was horde...i'd be BE. They look wicked cool. Orcs may be the best but sure are the ugliest.....grug says give me your jelly beans "as the orc stands there with glowing blue eyes"...*everyone laughs*
