Muti PvP in 3.0Follow

#1 Sep 28 2008 at 11:33 PM Rating: Default
So I am playing as a rogue/discpriest in 2vs2 (couldn't find a damn druid) and was wondering wondering how viable is muti for PvP. With the new changes in 3.0, like mutilate being doneable from every direction, deadly brew and increased poison demage, it seems to have a big PvP boost.
If anyone could give me info on how muti would behave in arena, it would be much apreciated. (don't want to throw 3k arena points and 1kg on some s3 daggers without being sure it's good).
Also, I'm a troll so the new racial might make me need ShS just a bit less.
Here's a build I was thinking at, http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents2.html?tal=00502312531210252213033100000500000000000000000000000005020200000000000000000000000 call me an Rtard if needed, I've never really been muti :(

One thing i see different from muti and ShS is the mobility. In the arena's i have been in, ShS helped me get to that caster and kick w/e that thing is casting, or get me out of binds from certain areas.

Also ShS i find more energy efficient, and also alot less random on cp generation.

With muti though u can load up 5 point ruptures, armors, eviscerates and so forth that it gets kinda nuts.

IT all boils down to how your partner can aid you and how you can aid your partner, and what u find to be most pleasurable for you with a desired outcome in mind.

Before Theo comes here to call us all retards;

Muti is alright. It's not magnificent and for the real high end PvP you will want ShS, but it can work up to a specific point. I wouldn't be surprised if you could achieve a 1800-1900ish rating with it, but I'd be suprised if you could take it above 2000-2100.

Why are you using the WotLK tree?

With a disc priest, I'd probably spec mut anyway, though I'd probably get HFB to remove bleeds to allow me to restealth in warrior/druid matches.

You put too many points in crappy talents low in the tree. Blood Spatter is crap for PvP, as is Imp Poisons. As mut after 3.0.2 I'd always roll with Mind Numbing MH, Wound OH.

Use this. HFB is a great talent with a healer, as it saves your healer a lot of stress healing with bleeds on you, allows you to vanish/restealth, and will remove a lot of warrior damage against you (which are some of the harder matches as rogue/priest).

The other way I'd go is this. Lacks HFB, but you pic up Elusiveness and DW Spec. HFB mut will be more damage, but this build will provide a 1.5 min Blind.

I recommend the first build more, but the second build is alright. The 51 in Assassination of the first build are pretty much set in stone for PvP.

Edit: stop using the ******* Blizzard calculator. It's a piece of **** and takes 10 million years to load.

Thx a lot for the replies, it was what I wanted to know ^^
I think I will go with the second build Theo suggested. I don't get out of combat to restealth to often while fighting warr/druid and reduced CDs on CloS and Blind seem to suit me better.
Oh, and btw, anyone could give me a percent of how much my DPS would increase as muti, considering I stick to the target (used to be 18/0/43)?

Probably ~20% with the HFB, ~5-10% with the second build. I'd recommend the HFB over the second one.
