I am curious to what your preferred 3.0 PvE specs will be. Not simply just "BM, MM, or SV," but I want to know why you'd spec that way. I'll post my intended specs for each tree, and I'd like the wiser forum members to argue with me and nitpick every little detail. In a sense, I want to pound out the most effecient specs, be it through blood, sweat, and/or tears. (Or just heated discussions via words. That works too)

Here it goes: (Keep in mind that this is for post 3.0 raiding, thus 70 will be the level cap.)

BM PvE: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter=512002005250122431005010005000000000000000000000000000005305000200000000000000000
Reasoning: Obviously this is just a re-hash of the generic 41/20 build. Same talents in BM, but with the change to Mortal Shots we can instead stick extra points into Imp Tracking, resulting in a 5% DPS increase. (In theory)
Possible Modifications: May consider shifting points around in MM tree for 2/2 Go For the Throat. Especially since every pet has a focus dump now, this may be more useful than, say, 100% of your Int in AP as opposed to 33%.

MM PvE Utility: Link
Reasoning: Obviously Trueshot Aura giving the raid 10% increased AP (Can be pushed up to 12% with glyphs) is the whole purpose of this tree. Chimera Shot pretty much offers an extra shot every 10 seconds. It'll deal around 500-600 damage, assuming you have a Serpent Sting up on the boss. In addition, it'll refresh the serpent sting, turning it into a "fire and forget" type of shot at the beginning of the fight. Imp Stings, generally a PvP talent, is there to play off of this, increasing the damage of your continuous Serpent Sting. The big downside to this build is the lack of 3/3 Surefooted. This means that gear with pure DPS stats will need to be replaced with +hit gear.
Possible Modifications: Instead of Imp Steady Shot, perhaps put those three points into Combat Expertise and finish maxing out Hawk Eye.

MM PvE (Mark 2): http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter=000000000000000000000000005300002400233030500000000000005305200235010220100000000
Reasoning: This build gets the all important Trueshot Aura, buffing the raid. However, it also goes midway through SV to get 5/5 Lightning Reflexes, and when coupled with 2/2 Combat Expertise, gives you nearly 20% extra Agility. Sadly, there are not enough points to go deep enough into SV for the Expose Weakness buff. 3/3 Surefooted allows pure DPS gear to be used. Important: A good chunk of this spec's DPS comes from use of the Lock and Load mechanics. *see below for more information.
Possible Modifications/Downfalls: With the PTR patch being an "estimated 6 hours" away from completion, I cannot garuntee that this spec will out DPS the other MM PvE spec listed.

PvE Survival:http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter=502000000000000000000000005300002500230330503030000000005305200200000000000000000
Reasoning: To be honest, I haven't really given this one much thought. SV right now seems like a VERY gimped Spec for raiding, all in all, I don't see it doing enough DPS to keep up with BM, nor providing friendly raid buffs like MM will.

*Lock and Load theory. If a Hunter can manage to stand just a little bit out of melee range, a quick shift would allow the Hunter to drop a Trap and get off 2 free Arcane/Explosive Shots, in addition to the Immolation Trap damage. (And maybe even set off a Raptor Strike?) Once the Immolation Trap is dropped, the Hunter just skips back out into bow-range, and shoots stuff.

Anyways, that's my 2cents on the matter. Please, please, please argue with me and maybe we can build the uberspec for those raiding Hunters out there, be it BM, MM, or SV.

NOTE I totally missed the fact that this was a level 70 question /facepalm, but I'll let my comments stand anyway. lol. Obviously you can't take everything when you're missing 10 points. I'd probably go with kindred spirits over imp tracking for leveling as pet damage really helps, and while you're leveling it would be a pain in the *** to constantly switch what you're tracking.

I'll edit this as I read through more of your talents :)

First off
- skipping invigoration and cobra strikes is a bad move. That's a lot of dps/mana you're giving up

- kindred spirit is worth 10% faster movement -which is awesome and 20% pet damage, which if you consider a pet to be 33% of a bm hunters dps is 6%, more then imp tracking.

- Aspect mastery is a good talent for one point, and I'd say it'd be worth it over something like imp mend.

- GfTT is still really good for bumping up pet damage. They can use focus pretty quickly and GfTT lets them have essentially an unlimited supply.

I might go with something like this I chose the kindred spirits over maxing the MM stuff because I really like the additional speed.

SV is currently proving to be right on par with BM in terms of dps, while MM is a little behind. However you should remember that EW is now self only.

Honestly spending a lot of time on a level 70 raiding spec isn't really worth it. The expansion will come out pretty soon after the patch and at that point you'll have the full 80 levels to play with.

This is excellent timing on this :)

As a level 65 hunter with no immediate plans (if ever) for the xpac, what would be the preferred BM build for a level 70 cap then? Mostly soloing and probably still sticking with BM.

I'm so lost with all these new talents and spells, I have no idea how it's going to shake out. But this is a very helpful thread.

Thank you :)
