Arcane on PTR BG'sFollow

I've been spending a lot of time on the PTR in BG's and I'm finding that Arcane is much better in PVP than Frost. I am beating locks on a regular basis. Once, I went out to kill some spiders in between BG's and I was still flagged. A lock attacked me and got the first shot in. I ended up killing him with 1/3 of my health left. The resistances and absorption are working better than I thought and slow (60% slower casting and melee) is killer. Arcane Barrage is regularly hitting for 1500 and 2000. I seem to do more dmg much quicker with Arcane than I do with frost. My main nuke in this spec is Arcane Barrage and Scorch, with Fireball for the POM/Arcane Power Kill button. What are you guys seeing? Without any dmg on Deep Freeze, the Frost 51 point talent is lame. All they do is give us a stun, and that stun is dependent of the target already being frozen and has a 30 sec cooldown wtih no dmg. Compare that to the Arcane 51 point talent of Arcange Barrage. 1K dmg on the move (on the move is huge) with a 3 sec cool down.

I'm not sure to be honest, but I think you could well have a point. Frost mainly enhances your snares, not your hit points. Arcane enhances your 'hit points' trough absorption, and the thing with it is... You no longer nééd snares since you will just be keeping slow, an instant cast, on your target.

On the downside, any class that can dispel slow will melt your face since you lack all other forms of CC. And a class like a hunter would also be annoying to beat.

Theres a video about this at wowmovies.com

It shows the potential arcane has unless they change something before release and nerf it.

I can't look at the video at the moment, but if it's the one where he cycles with Arcane Barrage, Fire Blast, Cone of Cold, Ice Lance and then a PoM Pyro while clearcasting is up, is not going to change. For one reason, keeping presence of mind up for the 30% chance to crit isn't cheap because you lack CC. If you sheep, PoM is gone and same when it's dispelled. It'll only be useful in BG's and in arenas it will be useful if you're up against a setup with no healer.

It has already changed.

No longer will keeping PoM up benefit you with 30% bonus crit chance on all instant or channeled spells. It'll only work for the first one. It'd be wise to make that spell count, IMO.
