Could picking E4E be possible?
I mean it would increase your DPS if you are taking hits, Right?

They only work on crits. Since as a tank you should be striving to be un-crittable, the talent loses it's advantage on melee hits. As for spell hits, spell criticals aren't as big of an issue (and don't appear that often), as the really big spells can (usually) be interrupted or avoided or something, and the smaller ones can be managed.

only problem is most tanks stack enough defense to not take critical hits. Also the damage received in a critical hit could cause a tank dieing depending on the damage sequence received.

Ahhh. Didn't realize it was a crit hit. Should have read more carefully.
NPC spells can't crit, by the way.
My pally tank is never crit through entire raids unless I feel like sitting down.

i am not, since im full Ret spec atm. AFAIK, spell dmg is not governed by Defense Rating.
Defense rating mainly is to prevent being critical struck from a boss was what I was referring to. But then Eye for an Eye is more a pvp talent then PVE tanking stat.
