Lava LashFollow

From what I've read so far on various forums, the optimal weapon selection in wotlk will be Slow MH+WF/Fast OH+FT.

From the looks of this, Lava Lash damage will be minimal. This made me wonder, wouldn't the skill work better if it was based on your OH's DPS (like Hammer of the Righteous for pally)?

If I have been mislead somewhere about Slow/Fast being better overall, please feel free to say so.

This is an issue that is going to require an extensive amount of testing and retesting through every aspect of the game--PvE grinding/questing, PvE five-mans, PvE raiding, and PvP--before we arrive at any conclusive result. There are just too many variables to consider. White damage, yellow damage, skill damage, spell damage, proc damage, buff maintainance, scaling...

If you don't mind, could you link what you've "read so far on various forums"? That is a very quick change of opinion on what is optimal, and based on that fact that a great deal of Shaman still don't understand or can't figure out that slow WFx2 right now in TBC, right now it sounds like just that: unfounded opinion.

I honestly can't remember the last time a change Blizzard made to the Shaman class actually went as planned.

I can't seem to find them right now, but I remember reading the results of tests on MMO champion and WoWhead. I one test was strictly math based with WF+FT barely edging out WF+WF (This excludes the +spell from FT and the additional MW procs from having a fast OH) in melee hits alone. One was someone posting after messing around in a raid situation. He claimed WF+FT came up 200-300 DPS higher than WF+WF...after thinking about this a little more I'm beginning to wonder about his results (WF being bugged atm may have some hand in this). I will look around when I have a little more time on my hands.
