Upon logging in Wotlk after the Server maintenance, I quickly discovered that the Winged Steed of the Ebon Blade (DK mount) got a brand new model/skin! Fleshless Chicken version 2 FTW!

It actually doesnt look too bad with a DK actually sat on it to balance out the disproportionate head. The only screenshots I'd seen previously are the mount on its own.
I agree, it's much better than the older version. Still, it could use some more re-modelling.

...you have to collect 625 bone-pieces, which drop with 0,057% from every skeleton-looking mob in WoW.
After that you have to collect a glue component from EVERY slime creature in WoW (droprate 0,85%).
THEN you have the glue and the bones and you can attach ONE PIECE once every day, until all 625 pieces are
in place.

You can just buy the chicken-mount at Ebon Hold..I think it was 925 or 950 Gold..something like that.
Edit: ah, and the speed of the mount depends on your riding skill...so no need to spend 5K Gold to have
a ride on undead Donald Duck.

I'm not complaining the place holders were simply outrageous, these new ones look almost decent.
Actually no, I've seen it in motion and I still have a major beef with it.
It has no wings. It has bones that could accomodate wings, but without the wings themselves, they're kinda just like big fingers. There's no way I could, even with due suspension of disbelief given this is a fantasy game, believe that thing could fly.

I keep thinking that too. It would be like if I spread my fingers open and flapped them.
I understand the loop of logic that happens. Even if they give it a rotted flesh appearance to the wings, as if the skin membrane is ragged and torn up, it still wouldn't be able to fly properly. But (to me) that's close enough to suspend disbelief and run with it. But bare bones just kind of looks unfinished to me, in some way.
To be honest, they should just have a giant summonable bat mount.

What about giving it the same kind of blue glow that the opening lich dragon thing has? That'd be kind of nifty and give the impression that the thing uses magic to fly.

The underbelly has the glow, the wings do not.
