Advice NeededFollow

I have 2 questions in particular that have been buggin' my mind all day, so I'd figure I would ask you all!

(1) Is there any specific time to use your "premeditation" ability? I find my self often using it on my opening shot, making sure I have an assured 5 point KS, immediatly after the CS.

(2) I have recently lost my shadow priest partner due to him transfering off my server, and I am interested in beginning a 2v2 with a Ret. Paladin, I have read up Theo's guide to the set up, and yet I find myself unanswered.. The bubbles paladin's have, where it places you out of combat, (I believe).. Where no one can attack you and you cannot attack as well?

Where I am getting at is, could that not be substituted as another opportunity to re-stealth in the midst of combat? To get that much needed interrupt off? (Given Vanish is on CD; as well as Prep.

I usually used Premed for openers so that I'd have more options having more combo points at the start. But I'm no PvP expert.

Pallys have their own "bubble" (Divine Shield) and 2 that they can use on others (BoP or DI). BoP doesn't take you out of combat, but DI does, but it has an hour cooldown, sadly. ;(

Ahh, and I am guessing "DI" Is not usable in arena?

No PvP expert myself, BUT ... in EotS the other night, with the Rep PvP gloves (which give your deadly throw the ability to silence your target), we were having a massive fight defending the one base. There was a mage nuking people from afar, and due to the absolute mayhem of the fight, nobody actually noticed that he was firing from the back.

So I stealthed and made my way to him, then he started winding up a Pyro (he did, after all, have all the time in the world), which would have gone off before I could get to him ... so I popped pre-med, and fired off a deadly throw ... totally screwed him, he had no idea what happened ... he was a piece of cake after that.

Generally though, you're right .. you'd use it to ensure 5 points after your initial openers ... which would allow a 5pt KS.

Yea, but then I got to second guessing my self, why not use it for a 5 PT Decreasing of armor? (On locks and priests) It makes some sense to me, but I mean to resist the initial Fears of both classes you would activate CLoS immediatly after CS, but in time of CLos wearing off, you could have at least a 2 PT KS... I mean with my little experience I have kind of come to realize no matter how small the interrupt, it still makes all the difference.

You could also use it to open on a warrior or Pally who isn't aware of your presence. I've successfully downed decently geared warriors with the following opener:

1) Premed
2) Sprint (helps you avoid intimidating-shout/HOJ/Hamstring/bleeds/etc)
3) Garrote
4) Rupture
5) Vanish
6) Prep
7) Rinse and repeat (or just open again with cheapshot>>>Kidneyshot after the garrote and rupture do their damage).

A lot can go wrong with this opener (see #2 above), but when you pull it off correctly it can be deadly.

Hammer of Justice is instant, and has 10 yard range. It tends to be a bad paladins "reflex" move they use to feel comfortable in a fight. For added safety, you could throw in Cloak of Shadows if you think the paladin will try to stun you (after step 3 or 4 perhaps). Makes you immune to Repentence and HoJ for the duration.

yet another edit: As for blessing of protection, it lasts 10 seconds and prevents all physical damage. If you don't get hit by anything, you'll leave combat as normal. Basically your ret paladin will want macros for targeting you and doing the following:

BoP: To remove bleed effects and let you restealth, sometimes to get rid of blind

Cleanse: Removes a ton of stuff rogues don't like. Breaks polymorph, fear, ice trap etc. Also good for when that clever druid throws a faerie fire on you.

Blessing of Sacrifice: This should always be on you as default, and when it's not on cooldown. If the paladin is bubbled, it gives you some free mitigation. But more importantly, if you take damage, some of it is transfered to the pally, breaking all kinds of CC on him

Blessing of freedom: Generally more useful on the rogue, since pallys can cleanse their way out of almost all snares. Or just bubble!

On a sidenote; Divine Intervention (DI) *kills* the paladin. Even if usable in an arena you wouldn't really want to use it unless you have no other options. And then I'm not even mentioning the fact that it prohibits you from using *any* ability or moving at all. You'd have to break it early, immediatly restealth and hope your enemies have no AOE.

There was though an amusing bug at one point in arena involving DI. If you hammered a divine intervention macro just as you released your spirit, it would sometimes "re-kill" you and give your partner the immunity effect.

Sounds like the insta-cast arena bug. Smiley: tongue
