So, after PvPing pretty regularly I finally filled out my 4 set bonus. Now, I've gotten such items from pvp that didn't add to the bonus but I needed them for my pve set so I felt them more important. Also, I thought the +speed boost was going to be underwhelming because (silly me) I thought it didn't stack. /cheer at my wrong-thinking.

50% Movement speed in cat. 97% with Dash. 61% in travel. 15% in bear. (Where's the aquatic form love? hehe)

After having these bonuses, I must say I'm truly so excited I put in the time! I've shown all of my buddies in-game already but I knew you guys would understand my joy, too :)

Imo, get your paws on a set of these if you are feral :D

By the way, I'll take this time to ask about feral pvp. (I'm arenally retarded) Would a feral druid be a viable option for a 2v2? Maybe taking the place of a rogue in certain team builds or something to that effect. I'm not sure. I know we don't have certain tricks rogues do (blind, how I hateth you) but we have some of our own (burr, I'm a cold kitty *fwoosh* now I'm an angry bear! Hope you take credit frost mage cause I'm chargin'!!)

Any speculation, information, or team builds\theories would be greatly appreciated.

While i don't know about the updates coming in WotLK and how they'll affect arena, currently feral druid isn't that great in arena. First off, generally, you shouldn't take a team combo involving a rogue, and simply swap it out for a feral druid. That typically doesn't work. Secondly, if you decide to do 2v2, as feral, you will usually want to pair up with a fellow dps. Thirdly, just because you're feral, doesn't mean you can't heal, nor does it mean that you shouldn't heal; given, you should be dpsing more than a resto druid, you will have to do quite a bit of healing in addition to the dps. Feral druids can't manage enough burst damage to be the only dps in the group which is why they will usually take another dps partner and will then heal and dps (in the same match).

With this being said, feral druid 2v2 play is a pretty different style compared to other classes and will usually take longer to figure out and learn. You should probably group with a rogue, it's the best feral 2v2 combo imo, who you know to be patient, because there will be plenty of slip ups along the way when figuring this out.

I see, I see. Thanks for the information!

[Speaking in my limited arena experiences]
I normally do as you are saying and heal when I am not being focused on directly. Though, shifting out of form and back into it has it's (mana) drawbacks. I've taken 2\3 in Natural Shapeshifting which reduces this cost by 20% but I still seem to run low rather quickly. (Some red-faced moments include not having the mana to shift back into kitty) I do innervate myself once I reach 1\2 - 1\3 mana and this does help even given my limited spirit.

I've been brainstorming several ideas but I can't shake the feeling that if I wanted to get anywhere in arenas I should spec Restoration. I'm not against this change but as I am a guild tank I would prefer to stay a Feral Druid. I don't mind healing. In fact, I enjoy it. I also enjoy the playstyle of Feral and dislike the pigeon-holed feeling I get when I think about it. I have a very skilled Warlock buddy of mine who strictly PvPs so I know I would have a partner should I choose this route but I would prefer, if at all possible, to stay Feral.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, a Feral\Healer combo is pretty much poopy? Darn. I understand where you're saying the lack of burst dps would hold back this combo, though. Druids are so dependent on critical strikes that resilience affects us a lot.

I was tossing around the idea of having a Resto Druid as a partner. My reasoning was that:

#1 We are both stealthing classes and this may give us an edge on the opening.
#2 Resto Druids are very mana efficient and would favor a longer fight.
#3 Nurturing Instinct raises the healing effects on me while I'm in Cat Form which will make those life-saving HoTs work so much better.

These views probably have so many holes in them because of my inexperience but that's what I came up with.

I like your Rogue\Feral combination idea, though. However, a question springs to mind. Would a Rogue\Rogue, Rogue\Mage, Rogue\Warrior, or any other heavy dps combination work better than a Rogue\Feral? I don't want to be the weak link that's holding our team back in that regard.

I apologize for the length but I'm just very curious about pursuing this little fantasy of mine. Also, before anything is answered, I'd like to say that doing this "because it's your money and you should play like you want" won't really work for me. I highly dislike losing or the feeling of being carried.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I thank you if you took the time to read this ridiculously long post :)

Serevixx,

Theo on the rogue forums has a great little FAQ for those who want to get into arenas. He discusses comps, some strats and there is discussion from other members. Go over there and read it.

then do some arena. then come back with questions.

Theo can be an *** at times, but he knows what he is talking about and will provide you with information if you are confused or need clarification on something. Just read the stuff first.
