I am finally looking at the new talent trees and I know how I am going to spec at 70, but the more I look at the resto tree, the more I see things I like. Particularly master shapeshifter and I would like to still have OoC.

Here is my potential build. Any way to find another 2 points to steal from feral or I am I wasting points in resto as is?

Minimum Required Level: 80
Required Talent Points: 71

Feral Combat Talents - 60 point(s)

# Ferocity - rank 5/5
# Brutal Impact - rank 2/2
# Thick Hide - rank 3/3
# Feral Swiftness - rank 2/2
# Faerie Fire (Feral) - rank 1/1
# Sharpened Claws - rank 3/3
# Shredding Attacks - rank 2/2
# Predatory Strikes - rank 3/3
# Primal Precision - rank 2/2
# Savage Fury - rank 2/2
# Feral Charge - rank 1/1
# Natural Reaction - rank 3/3
# Heart of the Wild - rank 5/5
# Survival of the Fittest - rank 3/3
# Leader of the Pack - rank 1/1
# Primal Tenacity - rank 3/3
# Mother Bear - rank 3/3
# Predatory Instincts - rank 5/5
# Infected Wounds - rank 3/3
# Mangle - rank 1/1
# Improved Mangle - rank 1/3
# Rend and Tear - rank 5/5
# Berserk - rank 1/1

Restoration Talents - 11 point(s)

I'd say 3/3 is too much for infected wounds. you just want to slow him down not make him stop moving. i'd go 1/3, that's 16% reduction after 2 mangles or any skill that trigers it. Also i'd go naturalist 5/5 instead or imp MotW. i don't like depending on buffs when I pvp, and +10% melee dmg is always welcome. 5/5 furor, 5/5 naturalist, 3/3 shapeshifter, 2/2 M. shapeshifter. that's what i'll do i think (15 pts total). If you don't have that many to spend in the resto tree then i guess yours is fine. That's all i got for resto because i'm still trying to figure out the feral tree myself :/.

What are you doing with this feral druid? Tanking, PvP, DPS? It matters now.

Regardless, you are skipping Omen of Clarity, which is a required druid talent for all specs.

Here is a nice little tank spec with the current beta talents.

Questions?

When I first saw this statement

I was thinking, "Why?" I have most all of the feral talents I need for all of those. Then I looked at Naturalist and began to purrrr!. That is really needed regardless and well worth the points.

Because of that, I can now see where you need to decide on play style and choose the talents more associated with tanking, PvP, or DPS.

That kinda sucks for me. I play tons of solo especially now that my son and his friends are back in college. It's just me wondering around the woods questing, which lends itself to a combination of styles.

However, when I do do instances it is only as a tank. I have been increasing my BG's trying to get some better armour. I have always liked Druids, even back in my AD&D days, and I am a little disappointed that even the hybrid classes are having to specialize. I guess it makes sense as you get older and wiser, you tend to develop certain things better than others.

Oh, well. Nothing to make me quit over. I am looking forward to the new play.

Well, to answer your original question about resto points the 16 points is very solid for any feral build. I could see for some builds, raiding mainly, putting 2 of the Furor points into IMotW but only if a balance or tree druid doesn't have them.

The other points change based on the desired goal of your feral. Some talents are just good all around others are clearly better fits for various aspects of feral play.

For example Rend and Tear is a great DPS talent as you Shred and Rip. The synergy is there but at the same time you don't Maul that often making it less desirable for tanking. Last Stand, err Survival Instincts, is great for tanking, PvP and o crap soloing moments. For DPS not so much as you should really only be taking AoE damage.

There are other examples I could give but I am lazy and at work. Think about the talents before you grab them. Also remember that the talents you take while leveling might not be the ones you want at the cap. As I could see DPS or PvPers taking some things that are more tank oriented for increased survivability while leveling that would be sub-optimal in an end game DPS role.
