I was tested Demo only for a bit and back then these abilities were available:

Demon bolt - SB renamed :P
Demon Leap - like heroic leap... but afaik heroic leap was removed... bunno about this one tho
Demon strike - shadow dmg
Shadow Cleave - shadow dmg cleave
Howl of Terror - instant cast
Immolation

I heard that there is some Taunt ability now also... didn't test it tho.

i heard that they took away the shadow bolt thing that goes in different directions. im a lvl 70 demon lock, with 4 basic abilities. Charge, shadow strike thing, immolation, and taunt. so wheres the shadow bolt? do i get it between 70 and 80? are we even getting other talents in meta?

you get 4:
immolation aura
charge
shadow cleave
some taunt

no aoe shadowbolts, instead you have access to all your normal spells and your pet while in demon form.

I guess the immolation aura added with a hellfire can do some pretty nasty aoe damage. Havn't tried it myself due to being affliction, but a friend said it kicked some *** in the middle of AV.

indeed, though i'm actually undecided what's better... RoF or hellfire... hellfire ticks for like 500 or so (so not much changed there), RoF though for me as demo is ticking for 1-1.3k and critting for almost 2k... so personally I'd have to say RoF is probably better than hellfire

Rain of Fire, imo. Hellfire deals dmg to you.

the self damage isn't an issue in group pve though, so you can ignore it

While normally I'd agree that the rushfest that is Alterac Valley is more PvE than PvP, I'm not sure in this case it would count.

I was never refering to AV, i was refering to maximising dps, in which case IF hellfire is better than RoF (which I don't think it is) then there's nothing wrong with using it.
