Just a quick question,
My guild has just downed Anetheron in MH and I was wondering if we should have a go in BT?
If any of the experienced guys here could offer any thoughts on the comparative difficulty of the 2 places it would be much appreciated

Really depends on your healers, and how well your people follow directions in general.

Naj'entus is a major gear check, and there are some things to take into consideration:

1. Can everyone in your raid get 10,000 HP? Najentus does an AoE for 8,500 and can target someone randomly for about 2k right after that, so unless you have 10k health (or damn close), you're going to die.

2. How well do your people take orders and pay attention? This isn't just a pew pew WE WIN fight. He'll do an attack that "spines" a person, doing initial damage and aditional DoT damage until someone removes the spine off of the person. That spine then has to be used to pop Najentus' bubble, which triggers the 8.5k damage. Oh, and if you don't heal everyone up to above 8,500 health QUICKLY, you'll lose, because he heals himself while bubbled.

3. How are your healers? It's really a very healing-intensive fight. Think of how hard Anetheron is on your healers, and make it even harder.

I don't remember how long my guild waited until we went from Hyjal to BT, but the difference in difficulty is noticeable. Unless you have Anetheron on farm- no problemo, you laugh at him - then you might want to hold off. Kaz'rogal is a much easier fight.

I would add, if your guild has Anetheron on farm, is working towards Kaz, then i would say go for it. My pallys guild has Rage on farm and we have gotten Anetheron to 40% a few times. I plan on taking them to Naj this week to at least see the fight. Do the same. Go check it out. Worst case you wipe a few times, best case, you down him.

LOL Good call Midnight Kazrogal downed :)
Just a bit of advice for anyone doing kaz for first time, dont be tempted to go easy to conserve mana in that first minute. It is vital that you blow all trinkets heroism etc right at the start and all out nuke. We finally clicked on try 4 and with 5% left we had a rogue and warrior left up, they stayed out of trouble and Thrall finished it for us.

Yeah, for Kaz, I go all-out on the mana regen stuff (dual wielding oils, blackened sporefish, viper), and switch to a 1:1 rotation. At the beginning of the fight, I hand-weave Arcane and Multi in. Once the Marks start to drain my mana, and my pots are on cooldown, I drop Arcane and Multi.

I haven't run out of mana in a while. I actually really enjoy that fight.

Edit: And it's really common for a guild to rely on Thrall the first few times. After a few weeks, people really start to get a feel for conserving their mana, and more people start to live. My guild has done it a few times without anyone dying.
