would appreciate some info on that :

atm paly tanks use spell dmg to hold aggro
but in Lich, spell dmg in armor for paly tanks is removed and str is added

basicly my question is how is the paly tanking in Lich gona work?

You still should have a spell damage weapon. Also, 30% stam ->spell power conversion by talents.

spell damage weapons are out, you don't need them. Get a tanking sword that hits hard, it'll be better for the swipe move we get

This is from Ghostcrawler, a blue poster on the official WoW boards:

One final comment, that you have already seen, is we want you to gear like a warrior: collect Strengh and Stam and use tanking weapons instead of caster weapons.

Source using the MMO-Champion Blue Tracker.

Nothing else to add really, since it's been said: spell weapons are on the out and out, stamina converts 30% to spell damage, and there will be much, much more synergy with strength then there currently is.

To be fair though, on the beta in my current level 70 tank gear (mix of blues (trinkets/neck), T4 quality, and T5 quality (mostly craftables), and SSO badge stuff) with a spell damage weapon (mace from ZA) I had almost 700 spell damage and with the new abilities I had AMAZING threat in Nexus the other day.

Nikola on Drak'thul, I might be in tank gear when I last logged, don't remember.

Unfortunately I assume there won't be any "paladin" tank gear at 80 so that will obviously change by 80. But at 70 it sure is fun!

Yea, I'm not going to throw away my spell damage stuff right away either, but those without all this badge/raid gear, and those that will be replacing gear with Northrend stuff shouldn't be seeking a spell weapon. I've toyed with the idea of having a spell weapon and a normal tank weapon, but I'm not sure I will actually do that.
