Never done the PTR - all I have to do is make a character copy? Does it let you see the 80pt talents, or just the changes that will happen in the pre-XP patch?

Thx,
-Nubby Nubberton.

Yup. And download the PTR server file thing... Just click the "PTR" icon on the WoW launcher and it should go automatically.

The latter. Those however include the new talent trees. You will however only have 61 points to spend, so at the moment it is impossible to make full 71-point WOTLK build.

To sum it up quickly

Right now in the PTR:
-Barber Shops
-Stormwind Harbor
-New talent trees
-61 talent points
-All the new class balance stuff
-All the new itemization balance stuff (new hit rating, spellpower, etc)
-New skills like Dismantle and Fan of Knives. Keep in mind not all of those are learnable as some require a level past 70 which is unachievable. Result is that for rogues, Dismantle is train and usable, but FOK is only train and not usable.
-Hole in the ground where old Dalaran used to be
-UI updates; the achievement system, calendar and new vanity pet/mount system the biggest to be named here.
-Entrance to the new CoT instance (instance itself isn't in)

NOT in the PTR:
-Death Knights (The icon in the character creation screen is there but you can't select it, it's grey)
-The ability to level past 70, and with that the ability to gain more than 61 talent points.
-The ability to level professions past 375 (I think, not 100% sure on this one)

Good luck though. When I checked the Character Copy page this morning, the queue for copying your own character was 9 days. Now it's up to 14 days.

Might be quicker just to wait for the real thing to come out.

Don't take those days too serious though. Our que over at the EU here used to be 4 days. Somewhere later that evening I refreshed the page and could copy a character right away. I did such, and 10 minutes later the entire wow-europe site crashed. When it was back up lateron, there was a 5 day que.

'Moral' of the story; the day-long waiting que seem to be utter bullsh*t, just refresh every 2-3 hours and with some luck you'll be able to throw in a character copy.

I just hope your servers are a bit more stabile, though. It seems our PTR is located in america (server time showed up as 12:00 at about 22:00). On some evenings, if you make it past the 4000 players que and actually manage to get into the server, everything will be so lagging you are unable to enter a BG or talk to NPCs.

And Thomas, cheers =) Good luck ******** around!

Edit: *Giggles* The "copy your own character" feature wait time has just gone up to 23 days for us. Copy a premade has been stuck on 1 hour since day one.
