Training as DPSFollow

#1 Sep 17 2008 at 7:47 PM Rating: Decent
Right now, I'm training a 2h sword Arms Warrior and I'm stuck in what to do.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Detheroc&n=Jartia

- Should I bother using prot skills while training? I'm having a little trouble using all the prot skills efficiently, except maybe Sunder Armour.
- I doubt that when/if I reach 70 that I'll raid too much, will Blacksmithing offer me decent weapons/armour that I'll use?
- Can someone provide me some common Arms talent builds? Preferably not a dual-wielding build.
- Are quests built so that when you're at the level of the given quest, you'll be able to do it without too much trouble? I find myself skipping quests until I'm 1-2 levels higher.
- Is training regularly really needed at my level? (Assuming quests are the best method of training.)

You'll probably find me asking more questions throughout the week.
Thanks, Madow

- I suggest ALWAYS training all available skills, regardless of spec. This of course does depend on your gold supply. If you can afford all of them, get all of them.

- Blacksmithing does offer tier 5 quality gear at the end level, and they will hopefully be even better after the next expansion. Each specialization has a function. Swords allows for an amazing tanking 1h, or an equally awesome 2h. Mace specialization yields a great 1h dps weapon, or a very nice 2h (however both 2h swords and maces are getting nerfed in PvP in the x-pac) and the axe speacialization yeilds a great 1h axe, but it's rareley made by anyone except orcs, and you will very rarely see someone with the epic 2hander. You also have the choice to go Armorsmith, which will allow you to create the best plate chest piece in the game before tier 6. It should be noted that Blacksmithing is a huge money sink, and is not really going to earn you any money. I personally went Armorsmith and never looked back. The chest piece is awesome, and not a whole lot of people have it.

- Your basic builds are going to be 41-20-0 and 33-28

- Some quests will prove difficult for you, being the most gear dependent class in the game, and there is nothing wrong with waiting a level or two before completing quests. I would suggest trying to find someone to level with, it breaks up the monotony of grinding.

- I'm not sure of what your question is... but, you should always train as soon as it becomes available. New skills will only help you get better and more powerful. If you are talking about leveling, then questing is your best bet. You get the best bang for your buck so to speak.

I hope this helped, but don't be afraid to read the stickies and research your class a little bit. There are tons of forums and sites out there designed to help you.
