3.0 Builds ConsolidatedFollow

The idea is keeping the builds for 3.0 in one location so that as we get closer to the patch release, we won't be inundated with "what build" threads ad nauseam.

Pretty sure I'll be going with this for raiding in 3.0. Who else has theirs?

That's my planned PvP build as of now with a feral or rogue partner.

I think Therion is going for the Level 70 builds that we will be using until the release of WotLK.

I was going for a similiar idea in the thread I started but it got side tracked. Therion seems to have some better pull than me so I hope this doesn't get buried.

Please keep posting these, I would love to see the variations as to what is gonna be key for the weeks between patch and expac.

Hey Theo, what build would you use for Arena with a Resto Druid partner once these updates hit live (so, level 70, not 80)?

MYteddy's Mut build. 56/0/9 or whatever.

HFB is huge on healer teams.

Edit: Oh, 70?

Uh, probably this.

Mut and only Mut with a Druid.

I refuse to give out hints why though.

Cuz HFB doesn't remove MS or anything. That would be just plain stupid.

Well I planned on going with Mutilate anyway... My main problem that I was having was figuring out what to do about Sub (Cap MoD? Anything in Camo?), so that's why I asked. I'm going to use the build that Theo linked and see how it works.

I'm really twisted about it at the moment. The thing is I really want to stick with daggers. But so far I've found Shadow Dance to be very lacking. I'd love a 30/0/31 build, the thing what I've been playing with lately. The problem is that this is pretty much is a non-dagger build. I'm going to need either mutilate or Shadow Dance. Which basically means I have to go muti. And atm muti/prep still isn't an option.

Maybe if I'd find a nice pair of fist weapons I could do 30/0/31 or such, but that requires a solid amount of work from where I am now...

Theo would 3/3 initiative not be great in the build you have? I'm not sure where you could move a point but knowing how many combo points you will get when you use a certain move seems helpful rather than 66% of the time i will get 3 but 33% i will get 2. Idk maybe its not that great just checking though

I think he's reasoning the same way as I go about seal fate now and then. While 100% is always better than 66%, 66% basically means "you can be fairly certain that it happens". Which gives the effect a "slight chance to fail". Which is exactly what it's like with pretty much all your attacks and abilities, for every class. The thing is, if you can spend that last point somewhere else, 66% is reliable enough. Also, 66% is quite near to the 75% is used to be. And we've managed to live with that one for years; why wouldn't we be able to do so now?

For comparison, think of seal fate 4/5 or 5/5. 80% is already so reliable you barely need the last point.

(And yes, I realize nobody specs 4/5 seal fate.)

Edit: Before I get yelled at; yes, I also realize Theo might have a completely different story, but this is an 'argument' I could put up.

i made a separate post and realized it belongs in here:

Anyone know how these stack obviously Opportunity and Blood Sp. both effect garrote (though i generally won't have opportunity) But i will have blood spatter and serrated blades so just wondering how the rupture damage works since both give a 30% increase to rupture damage.

Also this is unrelated to the subject but i was just looking at talents and saw lethality has been changed so now increases Ambush damage (yes i am kinda slow) but does this mean that with 5/5 Lethality and other subt. talents related to Ambush that this could have devastaing effects against clothies. Not sure how dumb it would be to pick talents based around this being your opener but it seems like in a burst combo for arena this could really make the opposing healers sweat. (prepares to get flamed)

This would be the Ambush build i was talking about http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=f0efoxZZebbboGdbIzAfot (dirty deeds for when you have the chance to us ambush on someone below 35% health, potentially killing them, just a thought) Anyway the lack of vile poisons sucks but maybe with wound poison on OH for shiv or with another heal reducing person in the arena team it could still work. Thoughts?

It'll be 169% of your normal rupture damage. Meaning take the damage your normal rupture ticks at with no talents and multiply it by 1.69.

The talents are multiplicative.

I'm seeing a lot of 3.0 builds without Duel Wield in them. At tier 1, it seems like theat would be 5 talent points well spent in just about any build. Are the points really better spent elswhere?

Zero of my builds have not had DWS in them.

Not enough talent points at 70 to get the good essentials and still get that. You should see ti incorporated in every build at 80 though. It's basically pass up MoD and DT for it, which will come down to playstyle and comps.

I'm actively trying to figure out a talent placement that satisfies my Mut tree but picks up that.

Yeah, I'd know if it was Bruce Campbell. ;)

As far as talents go, holy crap murder spree sucks. Like woah, bad. For some reason I thought it was 5 jumps, at .5 a second at each jump, which means you fly around attacking.

No, its' 5 attacks. Know how long it takes a rogue to do 5 separate attacks? Yeah, about 1 jump. You use it, and it makes you change targets. WOOOOPDEEEDOOOOO!!!!!!

Uh, yeah I did. How do you think I realized it was hits instead of jumps? I was using it like crazy on the ptr. Its ok, I know you're an *** so I won't take it personally. Need some help removing your foot from your mouth? :)

Especially sword specced, your procs go off and you literally get one jump; you might get two if you're only spamming SS. If you're soloing, you get a similar effect by spamming the <tab> button. Really useful. In raids, you're usually supposed to be attacking a single target anyways, so... same thing, really useful.

Yeah, sorry but I'm using it on beta right now and it doesn't work like you're saying it does.

But hey, beta's more up to date than the PTR, so WHAT DO I KNOW.
