I got a beta invitation last week and finally noticed it in my email inbox yesterday.
I quickly setup my beta account and downloaded the client and all the patches and jumped right in with a new DK while waiting for my rogue and shaman to transfer over from the live servers.
I must say I was thoroughly impressed with everything having to do with death knights and their starting zone.
The class, to me, plays somewhere between a fury warrior and a rogue. There are a lot of abilities to use but a lot of it is watching for rune cooldowns and how much runic power you have.
I was a little concerned when I heard about the new system that the class might be difficult to pick up and learn, but I found myself settling into a combat rotation within just a few fights.
The DK starting zone is also amazing. A lot of recognizable names can be found in Acherus and the phasing element of the entire zone is really cool and entirely seemless.
Overall I was completely blown away by how good the DK starting zone is and I can't wait to see what Blizz did with Northrend, especially because I've heard that there is a lot areas that take advantage of phasing.
The only thing that concerned me at all in the 3 or 4 hours I played was that it seemed like the DK talent trees, especially blood and unholy, were bloated with good talents and I was finding it difficult to decide on a talent spec.
Any of you other DK/beta enthusiasts got a reccomendation for a good blood spec and a good unholy spec?
