So i was looking at the new talents and saw the ability that buffed hand spells. what is a hand spell? is it just a spell with a hand in the picture?

No... check the spells list. Blessing of Freedom, Blessing of Protection and Blessing of Salvation has been renamed Hand of Freedom, Protection, and Salvation respectively.

Blessing of Sacrifice was changed to a "Hand" spell as well.

All of the short-term blessings, and salvation for some reason, were changed to Hand spells and are separate from the actual blessings now.

No more overriding a 28 minute BoK because a warlock's getting attacked.

Salvation was changed because

A) It made Paladins ESSENTIAL to raids, and they wanted to get away from any one class being absolutely essential in a raid.
B) All the DPSers who would rather have something to buff up their damage were forced to get this. While it's nice for threat and it technically gives them more damage output, people generally like seeing bigger numbers. Now we don't have to worry about people going "I don't want salv, I want Might! (Kings, etc...)"

Yeah, but some people just don't try to control their threat and pull off tanks even with salv. Innate threat reductions to DPS, or equivalent bonuses to tanks, better be there.

The one thing I like is that my hunter will no longer have to teach paladins how misdirection and feign death works.

I suspect part of the change to the 'Hand' spells is because the old Blessings overwrote whatever other blessing you had put on. By turning these into Hands, you don't have to be constantly rebuffing everytime you use it.

Hand of Salvation I think will be the one that will take the most getting used to.

I like the idea of the new hand os salvation spell, it opens up a couple doors that otherwise wouldn`t be there. In terms of threat anyways. It can be one of those **** savers, or someone else`s *****

How much will hand spells be used? For a holy paladin, do you think blessed hands (30% reduced mana cost, 30% reduced dispel chance) will be an important talent?
