Theo you can have at this, as I stay away from the math portion of the game, but give this a read.

Brief synapsis:

5/5 lethality is anywhere from 1%-6% dps increase in PVE and 1%-3% increase in PVP(against 400resil targets).

Basically, point for point, Murder is going to always be better than putting a point in Lethality (and for PVP you don't really need it at all according to this).

If you run a Sinister Strike build, Lethality will help you recieve bigger crits, but the total amount of extra damage given may not be worth the 5 point investment.

Yeah, this is pretty old, and it's what started so many rogues only putting 4 points in Lethality.

Notice the 2007 post date. We're getting close to 2009. Smiley: tongue

Well, The post date is Oct 8, 2007.

So not even a year old yet.

But if the math is all still the same and nothing has changed, this would still hold true, no?

It definitely still holds true. Why do you think Lethality is the first talent to get sacrificed to the Gods of Imp EA? Smiley: tongue

Never put much thought into it. I always assumed 5/5 was worth getting but having Imp EA would outweight 2 points.

I would have never thought you could be just as well off spending those 5 points elsewhere.

Yeah, and it's amazing how that changes when it's applied to all damage, like with Prey on the Weak.

Isn't Improved EA a duration increase instead of a 50% boost in effect now?
Could've sworn I saw that somewhere.

And Murder is deep in Assassination now >_>

Imp EA changed around a bit for as far as I know. It used to give a +50% effect, then it went to +50% duration and after that it went to -10 energy cost.

If I recally correctly, it's stuck at the -10 energy cost at the moment. At least, in the PTR's.
