Here is the general idea: you drop something close to a regular totem, right click it, then the totem despawns and a non-combat pet appears.
A couple questions you might have:
How many can you have out at once? One, that's it don't ask for any more than that.
What do they do? The pet acts almost like a mobile totem that follows you around like a non-combat pet with 5 health.
Why 5 hp? The pet will have better than average stealth that will make it very difficult to just macro kill. (it is also immune to stealth detection and AoE)
Are there different types of these totems? Yes, each animal that you get corresponds with a type of gear.
EX: eagle: Int, Stam.
But Bam it sounds so easy to just do a quick sweep around the shaman to find the spirit pet. There will be a spell you use to indicate where you want the pet to go somewhat like farsight.
Even with 5hp this sounds kind of OP to me. The catch to using this totem is that no totems can be used during the duration of this and 5 mins after it despawns. Along with this no one in range of a friendly spirit totem will not be buffed with regular totems.
Is there anything else these little guys can do? Yes, they all come with an ability called beast's battle cry. An AoE debuff that debuffs enemies around the shaman in the same areas it debuffs.
- Areas open for debate
1.) How much they buff
2.) How much they debuff
3.) Range
4.) Mana cost
5.) How many animals there are and if things like the elder should come with this too.
6.) Any secondary ability that comes specific with a pet: ex eagle gets an AoE silence
7.) Should there be any other consequences for using this
