Animal TotemsFollow

I was reading up on my Native American history and I noticed all the totem poles I have ever seen depict animals. Then I thought to myself: how could someone implement that into my favorite warcraft class. Well, I had an answer to my quandary.

Here is the general idea: you drop something close to a regular totem, right click it, then the totem despawns and a non-combat pet appears.

A couple questions you might have:

How many can you have out at once? One, that's it don't ask for any more than that.

What do they do? The pet acts almost like a mobile totem that follows you around like a non-combat pet with 5 health.

Why 5 hp? The pet will have better than average stealth that will make it very difficult to just macro kill. (it is also immune to stealth detection and AoE)

Are there different types of these totems? Yes, each animal that you get corresponds with a type of gear.
EX: eagle: Int, Stam.

But Bam it sounds so easy to just do a quick sweep around the shaman to find the spirit pet. There will be a spell you use to indicate where you want the pet to go somewhat like farsight.

Even with 5hp this sounds kind of OP to me. The catch to using this totem is that no totems can be used during the duration of this and 5 mins after it despawns. Along with this no one in range of a friendly spirit totem will not be buffed with regular totems.

Is there anything else these little guys can do? Yes, they all come with an ability called beast's battle cry. An AoE debuff that debuffs enemies around the shaman in the same areas it debuffs.

    Areas open for debate

1.) How much they buff

2.) How much they debuff

3.) Range

4.) Mana cost

5.) How many animals there are and if things like the elder should come with this too.

6.) Any secondary ability that comes specific with a pet: ex eagle gets an AoE silence

7.) Should there be any other consequences for using this

I'm kinda stunned and speechless... Did I get a debuff from your non-combat pet?
Also I find myself lost about what was the idea here.

Give us a stealthing pet and don't use totems? You know that they are giving us a pet or two in enha tree that does some things but not from stealth.

I don't think I like the idea as is.

How about this though. As a shaman we get the nature line of things. IE fire, earth, water, and wind. The one part we don't get is spirit.

What if they were to correct the problems with our current totems and add a new line for spirit that would summon a spirit animal. Animals available via quests just like the totems and each non combat pet would provide a benefit.

It should be something non-talent tree specific but would help in pve, as well as pvp. Keep it so that it doesn't help others, just the Shaman and have it as a 30/60 min buff. this would make it dispellable or not depending on Bliz. We can't remove a mages frost armor ect so why should they beable to remove this?

You could also have part of them be non combat and the other part be combat and as such targetable. This would give you offense, or defense depending on the totem spirit used.

What think you all?

One quick thought on a benefit could be that they leave the totems as is and make one of the pets auto-resummon totems that get destroyed. Or they could cause the totems to tick faster ie instead of every 5 seconds it could be every 2-3 or even tick as soon as it is summoned up.

I just want mobile totems if they turn them into little animals or glowing orbs or whatever than great. Making totems mobile or even allowing 1 or 2 to move around with you would be great, and they could still be targeted/killed as regular.

I don't need to go into the whole shpeel about not being able to stay on the move, but some times, you are forced to keep on the go and I want at least some mobility.

I like the idea of having miniature elementals following me around in 5 box formation.
