Looking over the latest build 8926 I've been trying to figure out the best PVE build. so with the need to extend judgements to 30 yards to get full affect of haste, to get conviction and sanctified seals in retribution tree. I've been trying to figure out how to max Sacred cleansing without dropping something we need.

I see sacred cleansing becoming important with having cleanse give up to 30% resistance to disease magic and poison.

So what do you all think the build will be? Kings is nice but not sure what it's worth giving up to get that full 10% buff.

I can see retribution paladins being more popular in 10 man, if not 5 man content, so you could just rely on the ret to give everyone kings while you act as a more variegated buff machine with Salvation, might etc.

Except salvation is a short term buff as a hand spell no more greater blessing or regular blessing of salvation.

Hmm, that is picky. DO you have a beta key? I'm sure it would be heaps more helpful if you could actually test them out. Kings is nice, but you have many other Blessing's that are more class/role specific, making it more tedious to buff your group but maybe you wont miss Kings that much?

You can actually cross-spec Ret and Holy to make a pretty decent hybrid mainhealer, the only stuff you miss out on is Holy Shock and the int-based Holy Guidance buff...10% haste isnt going to be important for 5mans.

By picking up Sheath of Light in Ret and then heading down Holy up to 2/5 Holy Power you get a really good crithealer, and a lazy one at that. The HoT from Sheath will keep tanks topped off all the way to lvl80.

About Blessings, it won't be tedious at all. We'll only have what, 2 Blessings before factoring in talents? Wisdom and Might. Kings and Sanctuary are talents, Light is being removed, Salvation, Protection, and Sacrifice are being changed to "Hand" spells.

I may try this build.

Having a CC is kinda cool for a healer :)
Also, infinite mana is also kinda cool (Judgement of the Wise). I'll be able to spam Holy Light, and never go oom :) Also, no downtime when soloing :)

EDIT - fixed link

Just forgetting 2/5 Holy Guidance and grabbing Art of War instead puts your FoL at 0.5 seconds after critting with Judgement.

Healing without Holy Shock or Light's Grace? Interesting concept. I think Holy Shock has the potential to become quite a critical part of a Healadin's ******* in WotLK. Plus, Light's Grace has been a life saver in many many fights. But, who the heck knows? We'll all find out in a few months :)

You can still have those, this would just make FoL almost instant as well, with this build here.

Edit: To clarify, I didn't mean to go for Sheath. I think Holy Shock and Light's Grace are better than Sheath, but grabbing Art of War will give you another almost instant heal, and if the target has the bubble on them, it has another 50% chance to crit.

Ahhh - I see what you mean now. Your basically trading:

1) Instant Holy Light on Holy Shock crit
vs
2) +20% judgement crit. If crit happens, then following FoL is 0.5 sec.

Tough call. I'd almost opt for Option 1. If you need a fast heal, Holy Shock is instant. If it crits, then you basically get a Holy Shock + Holy Light in 1.5 seconds. That is huge.

Figure an emergency situation. "Tank's health is dropping too fast. Shouldn't have healed that DPS....crap." You pop Divine Favor/Holy Shock for 4k. 1.5 seconds later you get a instant Holy Light for 6k. Tank is back up. whew.

Emergency Situation #2. "Tank's health is dropping too fast. Shouldn't have healed that DPS....crap." You judge Light (or whatever), and get a 0.5 second Flash of Light for 3k (4.5k if it crits). yipee?

Of course, all problems would be solved if that DPS knew how to control threat....lol. Oh wait, that is what Hand of Salvation is for. ARRGGHHHHH!!!! Too many things to do. heh heh.

I'm so psyched to the expansion and trying out these new skills :) Poor tanks are going to be guinea pigs...lol

The problem with Light's Grace now is you have to spend max rank HL mana to keep it active.

I have a Beta key but have been unable to do much of anything with it due to server crashes and lag, save for a few quests. I skipped Kings in favor of Benediction, Heart of the Crusader, Imp. Blessing of Might and Conviction. For soloing, it's been great as I can really knock mobs down pretty fast. With 30 yard Judgements and Holy Shock, mobs are taking a decent hit before they even get up to me. Infusion of Light looks to be pretty nice, as I'm critting at nearly 40% on Holy Shock right now, but to be honest, I haven't come close to even needing the big heal of an instant Holy Light at this point.

If the server is cooperative tonight I'll probably respec into a Beacon build and see how that works in an instance.

You don't need to anymore though. You can get Light's Grace started up with an instant max rank Holy Light. Downranking is no longer needed (even if it was still available).

Think about this sequence too:

Divine Favor
Holy Shock
Holy Light
Lay on Hands

All instants, and within 3 seconds. That is a friggin TON of healing in a tiny amount of time. Yeah, you can't spam that sequence, but still....wow! Plus, you can do all that while running and without getting interrupted (nice for PvP, mobile fights, when you're taking damage, etc...). Plus, you'll still have mana to continue healing since LoH costs 0 mana.

Well I got to play on the PTR last night some, never did get a beta key invite :(. So I tried this build some spamming holy light on a friend I was talking with in Shatt. With a mix of tier 5/6 gear and a healing of +1186 the highest holy light I saw was north of 9650. Saw several non critical hits around 5300-5600. That build and my gear provided a 38% holy critical and Holy light/holy shock crit for 44% and flash of light crit for 40% from the brutal gladiator's ornamented gloves.

So we can do some testing with current gear. Think I'll remember and log off in my dps gear and see what difference that makes with the same talent build.

You know there is a very nice increase for healing now in Avenging Wrath (+20% Healing). With Sanctified wrath you could get a 2 minute cool down on Avenging Wrath.
