Anyone notice that it looks like its back to 8-piece sets again, unless those boots, belt and bracers are gonna be renamed upon implementation.

Blizzard has stated that they will never do an 8 piece set again.
the armor seems low compared with what we have now, or does this not change anything? Also with the change of location of the "vigor" talent this could make 120 energy an easy thing for most builds with this set.

What are you on about? S2 was the best-looking rogue set I've ever seen. S1 was a little...organic, but tolerable.
This one does look very bland, though. Especially that mask. I hate that type of mask.

Aw come on, you've gotta be kidding me. You're saying you actually like the stupid skeletor mask? As for S1... I've worn that whole set for quite a bit; alright, it might not be horrible. It's problem just is that is looks crap with pretty much any other leather gear retrievable at 70. You need to have the full set or none of it.
You guys are all missing the key part about this gear:

I'm STILL pissed that I have to either pick up Precision or socket hit (~165 for 5% at 80) in my PvP gear.

Pah. At least you get to get to spec for it. Precision is being removed from the paladin trees.

edit: The fact arena points can now be obtained from other sources probably suggests the very high rating requirements will still be implemented.

Doesn't make it less ugly though =P The rest of the set is just 'meh'. Season 3 actually has something that screams "I'm deadly dammit!".

They're actually being lowered.
Edit: by that I mean that three sets will be able to be bought at the beginning of WotLK with arena points.
This information is all at MMO-Champion, btw.

Arena points from Wintergrasp is for testing only. Teh boss that Wintergrasp unlocks does and will drop hateful on 10 man and deadly on 25 man, though, and this will remain (it won't drop head or shoulders (or weps) though).

Interesting new system. The headpieces look almost universally ridiculous, so it'll be nice to see my characters face again after a few months of the cyber-samurai helm.
