What takes place in that video would be the equivalent of running Hellfire Ramparts in full T3. Better than T3 actually, since T4-6 are so much better itemized for their classes. Basically, it proves nothing. The reports of the mathematical HPS failures, OOM-fests, and other such problems are coming in from people testing raid content. That just recently opened up which is why we haven't heard anything about it until now.
Furthermore, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to look at the new Resto talents, apply them to PvP, and understand that little, if anything at all, is going to change in WotLK.
Earth Shield is getting a buff. That's great. It's still dispel bait and suffers against healing debuffs.
HW and LHW are getting more powerful. Again, that's great, but doesn't help at all. Resto Shaman already have trouble getting even a single LHW off against an aggressor that's paying attention, much less two. And both spells are still expensive and inefficient.
In regards to PvP, Resto Shaman are really only getting three buffs overall: Hex, Spirit Link, and the ability to remove Curses. Since the last of those only helps against one class, you can barely even count it. Spirit Link's value is still dubious since we know very little about the ability overall, much less in PvP until it gets tested at 80, and if Hex is a nature spell, which I assume it will be, interrupting/silencing Hex will more or less be synonomous with interrupting/silencing LHW, giving aggressors little more cause to worry. At least a Resto Shaman might actually cause someone to burn a trinket now.
