Guys,
My guild is currently trying Anetheron, I have been detailed to help DPS the adds down from the hill beside Jainas hut.
After the first try I realised my pet was no good on the infernal adds as he just died constantly.
So on second try I sent him on the boss
That was going great until I got into position on the hill and he promptly despawned (because of how far away he was I presume?)
Does anyone else use this method? and if so could I please ask how you deal with it?
Thanks a lot for any advice you can give

Normally I dps the boss, so I have no range problems at all.
But I have killed the Infernals as well and I had no problems with my pet despawning.
Perhaps your tank positions are bit to far away?
We usually tank Anetheron at the gate of the Alliance camp. Infernals are tanked at Jaina's Position.
The group attacking the Infernals stands at the end of the short path leading to Jaina's tower.
From there the group does not get that ugly debuff the boss casts but you can dps the boss my moving about 20yards towards the boss.

Where does your raid tank him? I've never had any issues with my pet despawning because of distance.

My guild tanks him at the bottom of the hill right where the path forks. I usually stand by the big crossbow-on-wheels thing, and I rarely have to move at all. I DPS the boss, and as soon as the tank has the infernal, I pivot and DPS it down. The only time I have to move at all is when the Infernal spawns near me.

I haven't read any guides that suggest doing it this way, but my guild has all the ranged classes group up near the Infernal tanks to minimize the distance we have to run. We used to spread out the way that the guide on Bosskillers suggests, but we would end up with people not running to the tank fast enough, or people not being able to get out of the Infernal's path. If everyone is grouped up, the person who gets targeted only has to move a few feet to get to a good place for the tanks to pick them up.
