Breaking news in the world of warcraft. You can now transfer from PvE servers to PvP servers. It is the headliner on WoW's main page.

I personally think this is stupid. It makes it pointless to level on PvP servers(imo), because you can level quicker on a PvE realm and then just transfer over. I guess blizzard will do anything for an extra buck or two.

So, Theo, are you going to consider transferring to a PvP realm?

Why does everyone think that leveling on a PvE server is so much easy that a ton of people are going to drop money just to be able to transfer after hitting 70/80? I really doubt it's going to make much difference in the long run, except widening guild recruitment and giving people who rolled one way and changed their mind the chance to move old characters.

It's really not in my hands whether I transfer or not. I play with a few people that I wouldn't play an MMO without (mainly my brother), so if he listens to me and wants to transfer, we will.

Odds are it will be at 80 if it happens at all.

And no, it's not much harder to level on PvP servers. You deal with random ganking and then move on.

Your right its not THAT much harder. It is a little bit more difficult in South Shore/Tauren Mill, and in STV. That is where the real ganking goes down. Other than that its not too bad.

I have personally leveled on both so I'm not speaking out of my ***.

I wouldn't say it isn't THAT much harder, blablabla... I'd rather say the difference is so small that it has no impact. I've leveled several characters on pvp servers and I estimate the "waste" of time due to ganking to about 1-3 hours per charcter (for the whole trip to lvl 70).

To me, it's even a very positive element. The fact that you "might" get attacked (although it's very rare) spices up a little bit a leveling life which would otherwise be (even more) boring.

On VERY rare occasions, you meet real ******** who chain-kill you. If it's your first character, then just log off, take a break 10 min in front of TV and you can safely log in again. And if you already have a lvl 70, it's time for some fun payback time. Got to love it when a dumbass gives me a good reason to chain-kill him until he logs off :)

Isn't it very hard to camp a rogue anyway? I've been playing a rogue alt more and more recently on my pvp server and haven't been ganked once yet. Not that it hasn't been attempted, but vanishing and sprinting in evasive directions seems infallible.

Gotta say i love the class with a passion. I get the feeling little Tenshi may become my main. It's probably a combination of playing a class with no downtime, vast damage output (just got Blade Flurry. <3 Blade flurry!) and even more oh **** buttons than my pally. And of course the vast sense of power you get prowling around someone in stealth.

Come to the Burning Legion, your guild name fits right in :) You'd easily be in the top 2-3%, and, well, I'm pretty much fuc*ing sweet.

Just a thought here,

But couldn't this be in reaction to Warhammer being released fairly soon?

I know, I know. Two different types of games, but just a thought.

Server transfers are $25. I'm not sure about any kinds of RP servers. If you really want to know go to wow.com and log in and pretend like your going to transfer. It will let you know what you can transfer to that way.

Leveling is a joke. The more it gets lowered the more this argument gets dumber.

Somehow people think ganking improves your game skills. I think it just increases your knowledge of GY locations. I'm sure that's useful when wiping all the time.

The only advantage to being on a pvp server is wiping people doing the circle of blood, groc, grulloc, etc quests.

The disadvantage of being on a PvP server like mine, is that people don't let it go. You can be camped for hours, not minutes, hours. I think my server has all the asshat gankers. It's one of the reasons I have so many alts and why I won't quest in STV anymore.

On the flip side, it gets people all riled up and you have some great battles between factions. Especially doing dailies. People go out there just to start wars...It can be fun as long as you're not broke and need to whip a few out for raid repairs.

If you like PvP, then PvP servers are the place to be.

I went and rolled some characters on a PvE server. Just to see the difference in leveling. Although it's stupid easy now. Before people transfer, they should check the server they are going to, to judge the level of PvP out there. They may like it, they may hate it.

My mage buddy and I are pretty much hated on the island for disregarding dailies and ganking for a few hours. Over 1k in 1 day ganking honor is fun :)
