Hey,

I'm gonna hit 70 soon, 67 now, and I want to start arena immediately to get arena points. I'll have a few epics from lw, everything else will be green/blue healing gear.

How should I gem when I'm so squishy, resilience+stam or healing+mp5 ?

When i played my rogue with resto druid (he was pure pve gear, almost 2k healing), against burst teams it was very hard for druid to live through. The other rogue/feral killed my druid in 3-4 seconds.

So i'm not sure how to gem for arena in the early stages.

First thing you'll want to do.

Get all the honor pvp gear from the outlands factions. That will save you some pain and effort when you start the S2 grind. With just that honor gear you'll notice your heals get nerfed by quite a bit but you're survivability will increase.

Start doing a ton of bgs now. If you can at least have 2 or 3 pieces of the s2 gear waiting to be used when you hit 70 you'll find it very very nice.

If you don't have 10k health unbuffed, it's possibly you may want to gem for stam/resil. But if you're mana pool sucks and your healing isnt cutting it, gem for healing/mp5. Spirit in pvp gets pushed to the wayside for mp5.

I also suggest using any variation of the 8/11/42 build. With thick hide plus natural perfection and barkskin, those pesky rogues won't be able to stun lock you to death. Just by having barkskin and NP proc 3 times my damage mitigation hits near 60% with 197 resil.

The last thing I can say, don't use pve gear in arena if you don't have too. The only time you can honestly get away with it is if your 300+ resil and you're switching out something with a smaller amount of resil for a huge healing bonus. Right now I have the 100 badge resto leggings and it's pretty hard to switch out for the s2 leggings when I'd be losing around 200 healing because of it.

Thanks a lot for your informative reply!

So I shouldn't waste time and money making some epic resto items from lw? The nice one item i got is Shoulderpads of Renewed Life. Those are from pattern dropped by hyjal trash, iLvl 141. Two other are helm and gloves, both iLvl 105.

Everything else is clear, I think.

And any tips for grinding honor as a resto?
Thanks again

If u wont to improve ur healing in bg's get healbot if u dont have it.

On my server (doomhammer) i won like 19/20 bg's before i turned 70, now its more like 50/50. So it was way easier to grind marks and hk before 70. If ur winning much more than ur loosing, then u might wonna farm before getting 70 and have some pvp-epics when u start against the brutal-set-dudes...

Grinding honor is about winning bg's and stay close to big grps and keeping the best dps'ers alive, no reason to spend all ur mana on a undergeared clothie.
Before 70 i usally followed a war, sham or rogue with great gear, that way we could win 2 vs up to like 7...

gl with ur healing, imo its the most fun in the game ever being resto in pvp

To grind honor as a resto this is what I've done.

If my good friend isn't on I find the best geared rogue or warrior and follow them. Once you have a decent set of pvp gear and your survivability is at where it should be you should be able to heal your killing buddy and yourself.

Another good way is to just go into bg's with groups of friends. I do most of my honor grinding with some friends of mine I know in real life and it's much much easier. We're all talking on vent, laughing and having a good time. It also makes coordinating things much easier.

But yes, staying in groups with people is key. You can rack up some pretty crazy HK's doing that. When I'm really pushing for honor I'm generally in the top five for alliance HK's and the number one bg wide healer or 1 alliance healer.
