My First WarriorFollow

#1 Sep 08 2008 at 10:34 PM Rating: Decent
Leveling my first warrior and now I have made it up to 43. Soloed the whole time as Fury spec with two one-handers, upgrading weapons and gear as often as I could. I'm hoping to get someone who is knowledgeable in the warrior race to look mine over and tell me if I am headed in the right direction gear and talent wise.

I'm also looking to get some good battle sequences. There are a lot of differnet attacks and what I have been doing since getting whirlwind is using it as often as it refreshes. In between the cooldown/rage buildup , I pretty much spam slam with a bloodthirst in when I am fighting multiple mobs. Is this the right way or should I be doing something else to get maximum dps? In instances, I pretty much do the same, being careful not to un-cc something. I also throw in sweeping strikes when I can.

As for my gear, I have a set of "Big Bad Pauldrons" waiting to slap on my shoulders when I hit 45 and I'm pretty sure I need to find me a new belt but other than that, I think the gear is pretty decent but maybe a closer look by someone more knowledgeable can see something different. I am also an enchanter so I get to put some stuff on my gear when I get a chance to.

My warrior.

Is spamming slam while Dual-Wielding a good thing? I always thought it was more geared for larger weapons with slow weapon speeds.

I never tried it while DW, so I have no idea.

I honestly wouldn't recommend slam spam while dual wielding. You're wasting attacks (until the expansion update for slam) because if you don't have a swing timer, you're possibly negating the next swing with slam. It's always nice to get a white hit in before a slam to have the rage to spam it a little. I'm sure there are others that can explain this matter more in depth.

I personally would only use it with a 2h. When fighting multiple mobs, I'd SS (sweeping strikes) and WW and Cleave. That should do the trick for the most part. Don't forget to Demo shout the melee mobs. Just a little blurb, could go more in detail, but a little too distracted by Akon's new song Could you be the reason...it's HAWT!

don't use slam ever while DW. just use BT & WW and keep your shouts up. SS + cleave when you have 2+ mobs in range. if you really have excess rage, you can dump it with heroic strikes.

and max out precision ASAP.

Well I have leveled 2 warriors now and your on the right track for the most part. Your gear is more than fine for that level, a few changes to spec and execution may be required. First of all like others have said u really shouldn't be using slam as there are much better uses of your rage. Personally i just kept Bloodthirst on cd while leveling as it will reduce your downtime a fairbit, when u have excess rage whirlwind or heroic strike for rage dumps. As to your spec you should really pick up weapon mastery and max out precision b4 you go further. Imp whirlwind is a waste while leveling for reasons earlier stated.

Gear is fine.

I think +weapon damage is a crappy enchant for offhand, offhand should get stats like strength or something. A proc maybe.

Talents, I'd go with this:

And try to go towards this...
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warrior/talents.html?tal=050000000000000000000000505000550501205310510000000000000000000000

Beyond that it's up to you which way to go.

Forget slam.

ALWAYS keep Battleshout up.

DPS single targets with BT and Whirl. Occasional HS. Be careful with whirl because it's an AoE and it may hit stuff near you that you don't want to hit. On the good side, on occasions critters like rats will be around the stuff you're killing and when you whirl it will hit the rat and sometimes that gives you the crit you needed to proc flurry and rampage.

Double pulls with Demo Shout, Sweeping, Cleave and Whirl.
