Hi there warlock / rogue here. Not sure what you guys have made about your wotlk talents but thought i would have a look, see what abilities you get to counter rogues (my main pvp char) then i saw this.
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?mage=23552303103010312231220213000000000000000000000000000000005025020102300100000000000000

if the link doesn't work its basically PoM in arcane tree then the rest in fire......here my vision you run into arena crit twice doing whatever it is you do best then instant cast ptro, then pop PoM for another instant cast pyro...along with blast wave and dragons breath is this not dare i say....over powered (bold coming from a rogue / lock) but as my friend on ventrilo said "Fu%k me sideways i'm rolling a mage"

The problem is that we have next to no survivability in the fire tree, although it is somewhat possible, it would require two crits in a row, with firespells if I know correctly. The best way for that to happen would be with a shatter crit, but normally that uses frostbolts.

I'm not seeing a problem here. What's your issue again?

even casting instant spells, it would take perhaps 15 seconds to do all that. because, you should know, you can't instant pyro twice in a row. the global cooldown is real too, you know.

the probability of a mage being able to stay alive for 15 seconds as fire.... slim to none. even worse the probability of him being able to cast spells at all.

first, you have to crit twice in a row -- already an uncommon event especially with resilience. then you need to have pom up -- a once-every-three-minutes occurance... then you need to have DB and BW up, and they also have moderate cooldowns. considering that DB and BW are vital survival mechanisms for fire (which is already a seriously weak pvp spec), this like gambling your win on a lottery.

the three minute mage has been complained about by every pvp noob who knows absolutely nothing about the class. in the end, 3minute mages are just about as desirable as three-minute men.you get a lot more bang for the buck from a mage who can keep it up for longer.

so i give this troll a 2/10 for being utterly ignorant, but at least he gets a little something for posting a link to his resource.
