sadly there really isn't a "fast way" to lvl as a pally. You've got the spec right, going ret till around 50ish or higher is basically your best bet. Might want to check out the stickie by toolofjesus on ret playing, there might be some good info there; haven't had a lot of time to check it out.

The other option would be to just find a questing partner to run with.

Recruit a friend(yourself)... get a recruit toon to your pally level and roll to 60.

Sadly my friends and I have tested this and you have to purchase the account you recruit. The account is considered a trial account and will only go to level 20.

Hello mate and welcome.

All classes level in roughly similar timframes, hunters and locks as a general consensus do it a bit faster as they have pets/minions which is effectivly having another half character with you.

The main way of levelling fast is predominantly through experience, if you have done the run to 70 with a previous character you will dramatically shorten any subsequent characters on the basis that you know what to do, where to go and the best way to stack quests and complete a bunch at a time.

Another way of levelling a bit quicker is through boosts where a higher level character takes you through instances so you get xp. I frown on this a bit as it robs first time players of the instance experience needed later if it is done excessivley, but a few boosts here and there will help. Unfortunately most higher level chars will want you to pay them gold to do so which you may struggle with at you level (assuming first char)

You can join a guild and quest with one or 2 other similar level characters which will make it easier. And/or get a levelling buddy.

Ultimately though its getting stuck in and getting quests done, this is enjoyable and fun, loads of people try to steam ahead to get to 70 for end game, which is awesome of course but don't forget the journey there which can be as much fun (frustrating at times too), remember you are a long time at the level cap and only levelling for a relativley short period.

You have 2 70's, I have just noticed from your signature lol.

Basically as a ret, get yourself SoC and a slow 2h weapon (as slow as you can get) and get to work. Get +str gear too, and if you are a BS keep sharpening (or weight) stones on you and keep applying.

Have fun

Google --- "James Leveling Guide" and then what every level you are.

So, "James leveling guide, 43"

Those guides are great. Also - ALWAYS log out in an inn or major city. Quest, quest, quest. No grinding.

Avoid instances unless you have a higher lvl boosting you through. A lvl 70 can clear many of the lower lvl instances in no time at all, but running stuff like Ulda and Mara - even with a 70 - it's just a pain... I'd say accept boosts for VC, Gnomer, SM, ZF, and BRD. Avoid the rest unless you really really want to do them. If leveling fast is your goal - simply do not do them.

Make sure your gear is up to date. You are an offensive (DPS) player. Make sure you are using a good 2H weapon and using the proper seal/judge combos. Get food and water. You'll have to rest, but spend the money to get good stuff. (If you have a mage friend - ask them.)

I totally agree with logging out in a city or an inn... rested xp ftw!
I disagree with avoiding instances or being boosted thru them by a 70. Do instances... get used to them. Especially do the instances that have multiple quests in them. Sure Gnomer takes forever with an appropriately levelled group, but you can get something like 8 quests done, plus get all of the xp for killing the mobs and bosses. I think my Pally gained 2 levels or more by doing Gnomer at level 26 or so with a group of similar level toons. Even places like SM where you might only have 2 quests, you can gain a big chunk of XP pretty quick. Also, Ulda isnt too bad, ZF isnt too bad, Maraudon sucks and takes forever (so I WOULD avoid that one), and the part of ST that you have to do for the level 50 Pally quest isn't too bad, but I would not necessarily do the rest of ST.

Doing the Pally Epic Mount quest will get you a ton of xp as well. You should start looking up what you need for it at level 50 or so and start saving up any mats you find. If you get lucky, you can do only a small portion of BRD and get a pristine black diamond for example.

From 58-61 I did a mix of outlands quests and the Epic Pally mount quest and those three levels just flew by. My Pally actually did VC (deadmines), Gnomer, SM (several times), Ulda (twice), ZF, part of ST, part of Strat, part of Dire Maul, and part of Scholo on the way up from 21 to 61. I also did as many outdoor (non-instance) quests as possible. Didn't really take that long overall. Of course, I had mining AND Blacksmithing on my first Pally, and was silly enough to level my BS right along with my mining, and still saved enough gold and mats to do the Armorsmithing quest chain as soon as it was available and do the Epic Pally mount quest so that I got my Epic Mount right after I hit 60, so I spent a TON of time farming throughout the levelling process (don't know how many laps I did around the Charred Vale for Iron and Mithril and Truesilver, but boy was that an easy place to mine!)

As a result, my total time played between 1 and 61 was ASTRONOMICAL (not gonna tell you how long, but it was well into the double digits in DAYS played... lol), but that was due to personal choices, not inability to level quickly when I wanted to.
