Two Tracking Skills TalentFollow

Simply put, I want one.

Now, I don't necessarily mean that it would allow us to have two tracking abilities wihtout restriction. For example, it would be incredibly unbalanced to give any class the ability to track with both Mining and Herbalism.

But, I want to be able to track Humanoids and Hidden. I want to be able to track both Beasts and Elementals. Hell, take away the Hidden + Humanoid one and I still want it.

I want to be able to take up Mining without having to spend make 8 abilities useless 90% of the time (and that is of the time they ARE useful).

My idea?

Make it a 1-point Survival talent. Hell, I don't care if it is just before the top-tier BM talent. I just want to be able to farm mining nodes and beasts at the same time. I want to be able to watch my back on a PvP server while picking herbs.

Mostly, I'm just tired of there being 8 abilities that I just never use outside of PvP.

A simple, yet not overpowering way to make this work would be to give us a talent that lets us track one moving, and one non-moving group. Aka, you can only use say, track beast and track mineral at the same time, not mineral and herb, or beast and humanoid.

Not exactly sure why they haven't allowed this yet... giving hunters extra tracking skills, yet not letting us make full use of them.

It would be awesome for them to still track hidden rouges if track humanoids is up. I doubt they'd ever do it, though. I nearly pee'd myself when they started to color enemy players differently than mobs and friendly players.

I do want them to bump up the effectiveness of track hidden. The dot doesn't even show up on the map until you can see it on the playing field, and usually with a rogue, that's too late.

I would just be happy if they changed the Proffesion/Dwarf Tracking abilities (Do Dwarves still get Find Treasure? I haven't made one in over 2 years--they ugly) to stack with your class's innate tracking skills.

That way, I would use them in more situations, not just when they are absolutely necessary (and let's be honest, that is really only in BGs/Arenas).

I actually DON'T want them to boost tracking skills more than they are (maybe a boost to Track Hidden, but that is it). I was talking to someone in-game today who wanted a damage bonus or something against the type of mobs that you are tracking (which is stupid to me, because Hunters would just be switching their tracking abilities per battle. What is 20 mana every fight if it increases you Raid DpS by 3%?

At level 80, I may take up a new proffession (there is just too much potential for cash when leveling), and then I can start to use the abilities. But that just seems rediculous.

Improved Tracking

A 5-point talent in the first tier of the Survival Tree. I would GLADLY spend 5 points and 20 mana to do an extra 5% DPS. In WoTLK, we will probably doing about 1.8-2k DPS against a boss in Naxx (about what hunters do in full T6). 5% of 2000 is an extra 100 DPS. WORTH IT!

That tooltip confuses me though.

Is it for all beasts if you have Track Beast up? Or is it only against the target you have marked?

It doesn't say anything about marking.

This is to replace the slaying talents that are currently in the survival tree. Instead of having multiple talents for different mobs Blizz decided to allow hunters extra damage to whatever they're tracking. A very nice change. Spend 5 points for 5% extra damage to any trackable mob vs the old spend 6 points, 3 for beasts, dragons and giants; and another 3 for humanoids.
