56 rogue now, few questions. I have looked in 3 different locations and haven't been able to find the answer to these questions. I've actually even asked a few 70 rogues and they said "I don't know." :|

Does Shadowstep make you drop the flag in WSG?

In the Ruthlessness talent, does "Melee finishing moves" apply to Kidney Shot?

Thank you

Nope, it doesn't. Not last time I checked anyway.

No. Cheap Shot isn't a finishing move... Finishing moves are abilities which use up combo points. Which are Envenom, Eviscerate, Rupture, Expose Armor, Slice & Dice and Kidney Shot.

Yes in that case, it applies to kidney shot as far as I know.

As far as I know, right-clicking the buff, getting on a mount, going stealth or invisible, becoming immune to physical attacks, or dying are the only ways to drop a flag.

And the only finishing move Ruthlessness doesn't work with is Deadly Throw.

For the record, activating Rocket Boots also drops the flag.

Man I was pissed when they did that :<

Bubbling, Feign Death, and BoP all also remove the flag.

Wasn't aware S&D was a "melee" finishing move. You can be completely disarmed with no melee weapon and still use S&D

Plus S&D doesn't melee, it buffs you. I'd hardly call it a "melee" finishing move.

But if Blizzard says so, then it is so!

it uses combo points, so is a finishing move.

Hey, wait. It increases the speed that I swing my melee weapons, ergo it couldn't be considered a melee finisher!

c wut i did ther?

Meh well yes it's a bit confusing, seeing as you can use all 'melee finishing moves' while in 'melee range' except S&D. But either way, yes, it works with S&D.

Since all other finishing moves effect the enemy, and SnD is a self-buff I can see the confusion. The answer in this thread earlier was still rather blatant though.

It can increase the speed you swing your unarmed fists too.

No need to be an *** :\

Fists are melee combat.

I feel like I'm talking to a three year-old.

Hey, the man has a quota.

Far from it. It's actually a good trick to do it to enemy players in your way because it moves you 20-25yards forward and gives you Sprint for three seconds, which doesn't suck.

It's a finishing move, you use it in melee...

You have to admit, it does sound like a silly question. Buuuut I guess the title prepares us for that. :/

Are you still hitting them in melee combat?

Yes?

Oh, good. I'm glad you completely fail at using your brain.

Harassing the ignorant always made your ego bigger? lol.

For real, though. Nearly everyone else could understand my misconception.

Sorry, I forgot. You said:

"S&D work with it?"

after someone posted this:

"And the only finishing move Ruthlessness doesn't work with is Deadly Throw."

DUUUUUURRR

Edit: it's alright to be an idiot, and you do a decent job of hiding it, but nearly everything in this game is straight-forward. It's not like FFXI where nothing is explained unless you read forums, etc.

Look, Theo does this every couple of days. It's how he gets his kicks. If you want to avoid it, don't try to argue with him, especially when you're clearly wrong. Take the hit on the chest and let him get the +1 he wants. You drag it out like this and you just look stupider, because Theo flamebaits for ***** and giggles, and we tolerate it cos he's usually right and it's fun to read.

If he goes "you're stupid" and you say "no I'm not", the conversation is never going to progress beyond "you're stupid" and "no I'm not". Kill it in its tracks by saying "yeah, I guess that was stupid" and then doing a funny emote.

This is the only reason to read the WoW forums. Theo is absolutely right, there is nothing about WoW that is not so straight-forward you actually need to read up and learn about it in detail. This whole place is an opinion warehouse with everything at bargain prices. Everytime someone flames me I just start laughing. My girlfriend thinks I am nuts for reading these threads, but for me it is pure comedy. In short I can't take anything Theo says seriously, he just makes me smile.
