Flight formFollow

I know this had been covered somewhere in these threads. But I can't find it.

Question!

Do I have to have riding skill 150 or higher to start the flight form quest line?

I skipped 60 epic riding skill. I just never really needed it in outlands cause I was lvling to fast. But now I am 69 almost 70 and I just want to know if that is going to be an issue getting my flight form and my epic flight form. Thanks for all the help!!!

Flight form requires (I believe) 150 riding skill. There's no quest for it...you get it from your class trainer at 68.

Along with that comes 225 riding skill as a bonus, which saves you 800g.

Epic flight form quest line requires that you have 300 riding skill.

Yes, to purchase Flight Form (level 68 from any trainer for about 9 gold) you must have the 150 riding skill. With that, as AureliusSir said, comes the 225 riding skill for FREE! on top of the fact you don't have to buy a mount as you have wings now.

Now at level 70, you have to sink down the 5,000 like everyone else to get the 300 riding skill. Which will open up the long, but not too hard quest chain to obtain Swift Flight Form. Here's a guide for when you get that far >> WoWWiki Swift Flight Form Questline.

... ROCKS!!!

I am leveling my first 70 and over the past week hit 68 (I longed for it sooooo bad!) and as soon as I did I went and got trained. Immediately went back to Outlands to fly. Flight form is awesome in every way. The 5000 gold to get the 300 riding skill will not be fun, but I'll deal. I see druids at 68 and 69 riding around on their mounts and think WHY?! Flight form made 68-69 so quick and easy and is almost like a new form of stealth (as I haven't found too many mobs that attack an airborne player - only casters and an occasional archer - yeah I am in Netherstorm)

Anyway, hit up your trainer and get flight form ASAP! It changes game play in soooooo many ways!

Sorry for the ramble but I am sure you can tell I am new to the flying bit of the game.

On a side note I feel bad for the classes that can't stealth past all of the rubbish to get to the quest objective, sometimes i stop and think how much it would have to suck to quest solo and have to kill all of the small guys to get to the boss... Flight form is just 1 more way to get to an nice area behind the rubbish and get to where you need to be.

Because while flight form is sheer awesome, it's movement speed is a step backwards to 60% while the epic ground mounts are 100%.
That and my hubby didn't always appreciate my lofty flight when he was eager to quest quickly so he could join me in the air with his gas guzzling, exhaust spewing contraption.

When I got flight form, I'm pretty sure the amount of ganking I do increased about 10 fold. Now that I'm beginning to close in on the 5200 gold mark... Still have 5 stacks of heavy knothide and a stack of large prismatics on auction... (I pray they sell). I cannot wait to get the swift flight form.

On a side note, a guildy just got the raven lord mount. I want a raven lord :(

Yes while the flight form is slower, not having to go around a valley or ridge, mountain or find the solo bridge to the land mass I find invaluable. I got mine around Area 52 and there are a lot of drops and hills and rocks and such, not to mention having only 1 bridge to an area for a quest...

The party members not having flight form I can understand... but I guess, for me at least, the journey from 68 to 70 has been very short. So if questing with a friend or my wife (yeah I wish - she hates games) I suppose it is nice to stay grounded.

I just got my swift flight form, and immediately dropped skinning for herbalism. I can see money in my future not having to ever get out of flight form to herbalize.

Good luck killing anything to skin while in that form though ;)

It should at least have the ability to kill rats and squirrels...

Micros beat me to the punch. I'm a resto druid so killing things for leather just isn't efficient. So I could just become a role playing flower picking druid. Grinded out to 201 in about 3 hours of farming. I also got a friends alch up with all the herbs I farmed.
