Here is the Naxx 10 mage gear. A little light on the +hit, but overall, looks like it'll be a pretty good set. Just hoping it gets some nice set bonuses.

nice post!

very light on hit to be exact, they estimate 26/27 hit = 1% so that leaves a LOT to go.

It's a pattern, really. The hunter set has 40 hit, total.

And then out of *all* of the cloth drops for 10-man Naxx, one piece has 25 hit. Also a ring, necklace, and the caster cloak with spirit.

Hit rating is going to be hard to come by.

Maybe not. Remember that the hit cap will change from 16% to 9%. Consider that it will be in every elemental mages' best interest to get Elemental Precision, just as it would an Arcane Mage to take Arcane Focus, and you've only got 6% to go. Add in the new Misery (3% hit) and you really only need 3% from gear in 25 man raids. The mage gear covers 2.11% of that gap, so it shouldn't be too hard to either gem the rest or throw on another piece with hit to cover it.

Now I'm going to have to decide whether to get my mage the babeh penguin or the babeh bear!
UGH! Decisions!

If I understand the glyphs properly, you don't get to do it that way. The glyphs change your regular polymorph(sheep) spell, not giving you a new spell.

how will it change to 9%? I thought any mob 3 levels above you is 83% to hit. Also, according to shadowpriest.com they [currently] got rid of the 1% miss so we can make up for 17% miss now.

Crap. Guess I was looking at old information. The beta is currently starting at 83% with no 99% cap.

So yeah, my bad. Considering that it's going to take 367 hit to cap with talents, that's pretty absurd. I had hoped that the changes to things like Arcane Focus and Shadow Focus were harbingers of the 9% cap that melee so enjoys. Guess it's not to be.

Remember that if you can count on having a shadow priest(or druid putting up Imp Faerie Fire) you can add in the hit that they give you. Either 3-4%, can't remember the exact number.

I would like to see some screenshots, I just hope it looks good :P

It looks like a good set overall... I like it. A bit frustrating that the hit is so low, but if i remember correctly, I believe blacksmiths can put sockets in gear.. So that opens up for some +hit gems.

Hit-wise, the set itself gives 36 (Legs) + 33 (Gloves) = 69.

We've got 3 Yellow and 4 Red sockets to play with. Maxxing hit using rare gems, and going for all the socket bonuses (Great Dawnstone for Yellow, Veiled Noble Topaz for Red) we get:

3x8=24
4x4=16

...or 40 Hit from gems. This also gets us the +6 from the Robe's socket bonus, bringing the gem total to 46.

The Sha'tar head enchant gives 14 Hit, Spell Strike enchant on the gloves gives another 15, or 29 Hit from enchants.

Giving us a grand total of 69+46+29=144 Hit before factoring in other equipment. Seems pretty decent to me. Scryer trinket + one of the Hit rings (Cenarion or badge) would get in the 200 range easily. Add in a Belt of Blasting and it'd be possible to swap a couple of the gems for more damage.

The Northrend gems give way more than that for hit rating, btw. Smiley: tongue

And I would assume there would be a new helm glyph that gives more than 14 spellhit.

I didn't factor in the new gems/enchants. My bad =)

Looks like Rigid Autumn's Glow (+16 hit) replaces Great Dawnstone (+8 hit), and Veiled Monarch Topaz (+8 hit, +9 Spellpower) replaces Veiled Noble Topaz (+4 hit, +5 Spellpower), sticking with Rare gems. This doubles the Hit contribution from gems to 80. 86 after we factor in the socket bonus.

There's now Enchant Gloves - Precision, which ups Hit by 20 (over 15 for the old Spell Strike enchant). I don't see an improved version of the Sha'tar glyph yet (there are others for crit, resil, and mp5).

New total is 69+86+34=189.
