Ret Pally Weapon in the early 50'sFollow

Just in case anyone wanted to see everything, I posted a link to my gear. However, that isn't the reason I'm posting. As of right now, I'm using The Judge's Gavel and I'd like to upgrade my weapon, but nothing on the AH really catches my eye. I'd like to go back to using a Two-Hand sword, but the only ones coming up (i.e. 52 are: Destiny, Demonslayer, and Ta'kierthan Songblade). Also, at 53 the Twig of the World Tree (Two-Hand Mace) is also available. These are the only weapons that I've seen on the AH recently, so I can't speak for what I haven't seen.

My question is this: what weapon should I upgrade to? Also, getting weapons from instances is pretty much a no-go because I don't have a regular group, nor do I have a guild. So, I'm pretty much stuck with what's on the AH.

Any help would be appreciated.

IBS is the only thing you'll want until 57 or 58 when you can find Outland gear. Suck up the 4-5 losses in AV before you finally win one, and then get onto the rest of leveling!

what they said.. Ice Barbed Spear from the AV quest is the best 50's weapon for a ret. i hate losing several times to eventually win to get it, but it was Definitely worth it. next upgrade is in Ramparts (first instance in outlands). at this points training starts getting expensive and you should be saving up for the epic mount quest so definitely don't spend gold on something that won't even really be better than this free polearm.

Yeah, the IBS is awesome for 51-60 until you (hopefully) get Hellreaver in Ramps, or the axe that I forget the name of in Blood Furnace. I screwed up on my Pally in my early 50's and took the Lightforged Sword as my level 50 Pally quest reward (should have got the IBS and took the ring as the level 50 Pally quest reward). I think I used the Lightforged Sword for a few levels until I got something better, whereas if I had bothered to get the IBS, I would have been good 'til I hit 60.

Just didn't back when my Pally was in his early 50's... seems so long ago now! Now he is a 70 Prot, and the IBS would be totally useless!

Sulthraze is a cool sword, and if you want to hang onto it for the coolness factor alone, then go for it. However, the IBS is superior to that sword because it is slower (which is better for Ret damage), it deals more damage, and has great stats on it. The only slight thing Sulthraze has over the IBS is that you can get it one level earlier. But the IBS is a better weapon and (usually) easier to get.
