so, finally Ghostcrawler posted some threads yesterday on the pally beta forums announcing that pallies will be getting the magnifying glass for the next build and asking for input from pallies about the prot, ret and holy trees. this added to the PTR being cleared and seemingly ready for a soon to come 3.0 patch to be tested has me pretty excited to see what the changes to the pally class will entail and to start enjoying them on live soon. also i'm pretty excited to be able to copy over premade 80's on the beta now. i've had fun with my pally, but i had also wanted to see how the changes to the hunter class are working (my hunter on live just hit 70 4 days ago but he's on my other account that doesn't have the beta key).

i'm gonna be torn now between working on gearing up my hunter, working in the Beta and maybe testing out the PTR when it kicks off... too much to do and too little time in the evening's after work... i need to quit my job, but something tells my the Marine Corps won't let me quit.. oh well.

so, i'm looking forward to seeing especially the new Holy and Retribution talent trees. i already am liking the Prot tree pretty well.

yeah, i know im setting my self up for a heart ache though. i cant help but have this supreme confidence that Blizz will get it right. and some *** in the back of my mind just cant wait for the "Haha, i told you so!"

im assuming this is going to be the last major pass at the Paladin class. if they dont get it close this time, they wont see the light untill the next expac i think. but, all they really need to do is get the mana thing fixed and ill be happy with any nerfs and balancing they see fit to give us.

this latest build clearly isn't including the recent input thead the blizz devs put up on the pally forums (not enough time for them to have implemented any of it) but there are 2 awesome changes in this build.

Hammer of Wrath was changed to instant cast... definitely will be in any ret/prot rotation once the mob gets below 35%.

Secondly, Sacred Shield now also increases the caster's Flash of Light Crit chance by 50%. this is huge for holy pallies and even for Ret pallies for the occassionally needed self heal. This will bring the crit chance of FoL for most holy pallies to about 80%... the chancy part now is you might sometimes NOT crit. and getting mana back from crits still, this will make holy pallies sooo much more mana efficient. for main target healng this makes BoL spec the better one. if you were SoL spec you'd almost never get more than one tick of the HoT before you get another crit. enough more changes like this any my holy pally might almost be my main again...

So you can now throw Hammer of Wrath while moving? That's a great change. Much bigger margin for error in pvp now, harder to pillar-hump it, can't be kicked or CSed. Excellent.

That's cool about the FoL 50% crit thing, I have no idea what they expect us to do with healing now. With Beacon of Light, Holy Shock crits making Holy Lights instant, Holy Shock being more viable as a healing spell, this new thing with the 50% FoL crit chance after shielding someone... it's rediculous! So many options... it won't be as clear cut as "Use the small heal for the small damage and the big heal for the big damage" anymore. Craziness!
