So I've been searching and haven't seen this anywhere. How is Blizz planning to deal with pre-TBC/TBC armor for the DK? Do they plan on making a set for DKs?

Basically, no.

It's non-set Arms Warrior gear and no Tokens for you, my laddie.

Sorry, let me clarify. For instance tier 1, will DKs just share another classes? Or will it just be forgotten for this class?

Blizz wont make any tier 1/2/3/4/5/6 sets for Death Knights. there will be DK specific gear in their starter zone (well duh) and for Northrend content.

In a way I guess you could say it sucks, but honestly, who would go get Tier 1,2,etc.. gear for a DK? It wouldn't be practical to get it for leveling purposes, and you can't really say it'd be for "nostalgia" purposes either since they'd be brand new. Smart move on Blizz's part not to waste time creating sets that are outdated before the class is even in the game.

Definitely agree, though do hope that they remove the class requirements from Tier 1-3 gear, despite it's highly unlikely. Just when I solo Ony, I'd like to be able to wear whatever helm drops.

I wouldn't wish Pally gear on my worst enemy.

Fortunately, Theo can't wear it anyway.

I never expected blizzard to go back and make them gear, from what I can tell blizzard wants to spend as little time on making gear as possible at this point.

All clothies in expansion will be looking at the same gear (except healing priest will look for mp5 and spirit where locks and mages will look for gear with hit and crit). All the tanking plate want the same gear, all the dps plate want the same gear, and only healing pallies want caster plate since DK don't have any use for it. Shamans and Hunters in expansion will be both looking at gear heavy in AGL Int and AP (bash bash spec shamans will need less use of str now), resto and elemental shaman both will want the same kind of gear (crit is good for both specs aswell so they literally want the same gear).

Basically what this all means is blizzard got lazy and made it so they need to make less gear across the board and also made it so that for the most part we will be happy with how stats affect our characters. The only real problem with this is now more classes will be fighting for the same types of gear.

In my opinion its mostly a good move but based on the fact blizzard doesn't want to waste too much time making gear for each class why would they add gear for a class in older content?

Making T1-T6 for DK would just be for fun, most DKs (if not all) will just grind straight up to 80, if they go to see older content it will be for fun and most likely any gear they see will be outclassed even further by the new area greens and blues.

The gear is going to be a lot more standardized. DPS will get Hit, physical DPS gets armor penetration, tanks and melee get expertise, healers get more MP5. That's really all the diversity you'll see, outside of class-specific items, as all the other stats effect everyone.

Death knights get no "new" items outside of starter stuff until near 80.

I've seen blue posts that have said that they expect to make spirit much more important. Add to that the lack of downranking for cheap mana, I think everyone (except locks anyway) will be looking at snagging some spirit.

Only tier set I like for DK is the warrior T3, but seeing as we'll be seeing the T3 skin again I don't have to worry. Though the warrior helm from MC looks cool too but meh.
