Even though i know the talent trees will still be prone to major changes i wanted to know what you guys
think about this tanking specc for lvl 80 WotLK Feral Tanks.

Feedback is more than welcome.

I prefer this.

Would like King of the Jungle but don't have the points for it. Rend and Tear seems more cat form related. Infected Wounds I will avoid till we learn what sort of bosses it affects.

I want to be able to get OoC with out spending so many points in Resto. Well, I really just want the 5 points in Furor to spend on Feral tree talents. I expect the lower tiers in Resto to change in the next iteration. I actually expect the Feral tree to change as well.

The bloat will be immense.

King of the jungle is 3 talenpoints spend on an ability you use once every 5minutes...i don´t think thats worth it.
Rend and Tear seems nice since Maul is effected by it boosting your TPS immensly, once again i think you would have to spend
too many points to reach master shapeshifter and they are better spent in infected wounds...which seems to be our thunderclap.
Some blue-poster stated that they wanted to get away from one single specc being able to bring one ability with them which would be cruicial in order to raid (talking about thunderclap here).
Natural shapeshifter is nice to have, but i prefer to stay bear while tanking, hehe.
Primal Precision is awsome, but hopefully there are other ways to get abit of expertise.

thanks for your input though, i will spend the day thinking about it.

I don't use Maul that much when tanking, this makes Rend and Tear kind of meh. The proc on Shred lends towards cat ability as Rip causes a bleed and that is the standard cat finisher. So makes the talent more cat than bear. Maul is a rage dump not a primary ability.

As for Infected Wounds if it effects raid bosses then yes I will take it. Stuns don't work on bosses and nasty mobs so I am leaning towards this proc also not working on such mobs, thus making it more of a PvP thing. Which I would also infer from the slow effect.

Natural Shapeshifter is only taken to get Master Shapeshifter. There is no other reason. Powershifting is dead and tanks don't shift out in combat. The ability of Natural Shapeshifter should be baseline IMHO.

I will take expertise talents until I am capped. Then I will reallocate them. Until then it is 2 points well spent as respecs are cheap.

King of the Jungle gives me +15% damage for 10s every minute at the cost of -16% armor for the same 10s which equals more rage. No crushes or crits for me as a bear; so it is worth it for the added threat.

As for the t-clap reference we get a glyph to up the targets on Swipe to 4. This coupled with increased Swipe damage via Feral Instinct makes Swipe our t-clap. And t-clap is not a raid breaker for warriors. They are needed as they have been the best all around tanks. This made them the best for progression fights.

Also I think the ability you meant was Spell Reflection . That ability makes a warrior tank needed on some fights. Not Thunder Clap.

What I'm really liking about the feral tree as it's shaping up is that there's plenty of room for all three feral specs. MT, OT, and dps.

Right now, the feral tree is good for...OT. (And ya, I'll still throw it out there: I still want to see more for the MT side of things).

Rend and Tear...either Blizzard is a bit out of touch with how feral druids are played, or maul and ferocious bite are due for a rework before the expansion goes live. This is namely because most people don't really use either of them. Ferocious Bite doesn't currently scale worth a damn and it's already been proven that Rip is a much better finisher in terms of DPE. Maul is often seen as a feral tank's rage dump and nothing more. 5 talents is an awful lot to invest in an augment that has such limited use, especially considering it's not "linked" to Berserk. I'd like to see the math on whether the increase in TPS from spamming Maul (nevermind selective use based on available rage) would be better than 2% increased damage (and consequently added threat) from Master Shapeshifter.

I like that I'll be able to run with a completely viable 5-man tanking spec as a feral druid and still be a juggernaut in a solo environment (though probably slightly less effective vs. elites as a TBC feral druid) and then, once I'm through the majority of the solo business at 80, respec based on what my guild needs most and still have the versatility to get the most out of the game.

Maul is a rage dump, just like Heroic Strike for warriors. That said, I think 4% to all damage from Master Shapeshifter is better than 10% to Maul from Rend and Tear. We already get 20% more maul and mangle damage all the time from Savage fury for just 2 talent points, so the conditional part of Rend and Tear for 5 talent points makes it too pricey for tanking.

With 60% crit just from talents (on a bleeding target), Ferocious Bite might finally be useful for DPS. Then again, it might still suck. It's too early to see how FB and Rip will scale with AP (yes, I know they have the data from beta, but Blizz hasn't started tweaking DPS numbers to balance the classes yet). We're also getting a new finisher at 75 that currently boosts AP by 40% for 14/19/24/29/34 seconds.

Also, King of the Jungle affects Enrage, not Berserk. Enrage is on a 1 min CD, lasts 10 sec, and gives 20 rage while reducing your armor by 27/16%. It seems like it's a great talent for OT, since you can use Enrage when you're not currently being hit to increase your DPS and and get more rage.
