When I was fist/sword I went with 3/5 for each weapon skill. You can't miss out on Vile Poisons in a raid environment. Effectively keeping Deadly up at all times is a serious boost to DPS.

Are you keeping on-target? Many rogues waste too much time moving around and not hitting the target or otherwise wasting DPS uptime. Stay on target. Rogue DPS is in large part all about efficient use of time, both generally and in the details.

Are you counting your DPS over an entire raid or just on boss fights? When people talk about their OMFGPWNT DPS, they're usually talking about the numbers they hit on advantageous boss fights, not entire runs. For rogues these are usually Attumen, Tidewalker or Void Reaver depending.

I hope you're opening with garrote on bosses. Not much, but every little bit...

Are you bringing consumables? Eat some Hot Talbuk Steak, down a Relentless flask, be sure to have your weapons poisoned at all times (also bring sharpening stones for your sword on poison-immune mobs).

Did I mention DPS uptime?

Other than that, be sure to ask to be placed in the correct group. Try to get in the same group as an enhance shammy or ret pally. Ask for buffs if you're not getting them (MoW is great, Salv let's you keep up the pain, etc).

Also, ask your raid groups (or guilds) class leader for suggestions.

And finally: Topping the meters isn't really the goal. If your DPS is matching nicely to the tanks' threat gen, THAT's what's vital. Pushing an arbitrary number will do you no good if you're pulling aggro, just the same as it doesn't matter how good the tanks TPS is if the healers can't keep up. Raids are in some ways like a dance: Coordinated balancing acts. Our role is to live long enough to keep up the DPS rotations and occasionally kick sh*t (oh, Caribdis, I love you).

Hope some of that helps. Good luck!

Your armor looks good so far.

Try to get the shard of contempt from MGT as replacement for the hourglass.

Get exalted with Scryers asap for the better shoulder enchant.

Get Pendant of Might instead of the worgen neck. You might wanna think about keeping the neck for boss fights because of the hit. Check the spreadsheet to be sure.

Get weapons that are the same type. You're loosing 5 talentpoints because now you need 2 specializations. Get the badge fist to replace the sword. It has more DPS and i seem to remember the fist being better dps overal (when adding sword spec crits to the "normal DPS" of the sword). Check the spreadsheet to be sure.

When you're waiting for BG's or dungeon groups or whatever, fly just outside of shattrath and farm the warpchasers for the warp burgers (you need cooking). It's the fastest way to farm decent raid food i know of.

Also, kill the caps and begging in posts :P

Get SSO necklace and get exalted with Scryers. SSO necklace is better than Worgen one.

Listen to Therion and samperor, they are right. :)

BTW: maybe I'm blind or something, but I see you have only 1 blue gem, so your meta gem is not active. You should change that as soon as possible.

I would say the point that jumps out at me would be your rotation. No rotation is ever going to be set in stone, with the exception of t6 geared rogues w/ AToL. The spreadsheet can give you a guideline, but you may have to adapt it once you get into an encounter, and notice your SnD dropping.

The key to finding your best rotation is to ensure SnD NEVER drops, and you optimize rupture uptime. Any fool can do 2s/5r...but if you're down on SnD 15% of the time, well then that's probably your answer.

To break 1000dps you need to be well buffed. You need to have a shaman dropping WF totem in your group (and your main hand clean of poisons), warrior with shout, hunter and druid also help. Get paladin buffs too. Time your cooldowns with heroism.
Unbuffed T5 rogue does something like 700-800dps.
Get all 5 points in your weapon specs.
Don't bother changing the necklace - Scryers SSO necklace is not as good as the Aldor one.

Stop ******* posting here you moron.

There's a 9 MAEP difference between the necklaces even for Scryers.

Anyone that doesn't use the SSO neck and doesn't have Choker of Endless Nightmares or better is a ******* moron.

Like you.

I think he's referring to Maximum Agility Equivalency Points which is a way of comparing gear. Check Elitist Jerks for more on that.

Right, so the guy wants to improve his DPS probably by something like 200, and you tell him to get a 2dps piece upgrade, that will not even work for him because he is not exalted yet.
Pure genius.
Try to think, even if it hurts.

Theo suggested he get an item that actually puts him closer to that 200 DPS, whereas you are telling him to downgrade. How does that help the OP?

Also, its not like its hard to get exalted with aldor or scryer, especially scryer if you half *** do dailies. The stuff is dirt cheap on the AH now too.

I LIKE TAKING GEAR THAT GIVES ME LESS DPS

Are you seriously that stupid?
#17REDACTED, Posted: Sep 12 2008 at 2:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Perhaps you should worry less about hit rating and raise your Crit%? I believe a little more balanced would work better than throwing everything at hit rating.

Hit rating is the single best DPS stat we have until it's damn near cap.

Period.

Stop.

Go read the stickies.

Go read Elitist Jerks.

Be enlightened.
#20REDACTED, Posted: Sep 12 2008 at 9:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OK. When I was heavily into raiding, I was pure
    combat
daggers, thats right combat. Garrote, adrenaline rush, backstab non-stop, rupture and be sure to watch your aggro. Adrenaline rush and repeated backstabs is the most possible dmg a rogue can do in a shorter time span. I've watched a few of the best rogues I know in raids and with daggers, myself and all of them were always #1 on the dps meter, ALWAYS. The only class I ever had to compete with was a lock, they will always catch up during any boss battle. As far as trash mobs, rogues cannot be beaten [period] I've seen a blue dagger rogue own dps meters even. Anyone who thinks daggers aren't the best raiding weapons, I dare you out dps me, even in sh*tty kara epics.

I could out DPS a combat daggers rogue as ShS.

Because a combat daggers rogue wouldn't know what the **** he's doing.
#23REDACTED, Posted: Sep 13 2008 at 1:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Look at his hit rating. If that isn't above cap I don't know what is. There is nothing wrong with trading some HR to boost his crit% over 30%

Is there a rating lower than Sub-Default? The OP's hit rating is 328. HR cap is 363 for raid bosses. Learn to research before posting (EJ Roguecraft 101).
