i have a pretty good idea of what i want for a spec in wotlk at 80. What i am not sure of however is if i want 5% damage for myself, or 20% damage for my pet.
Anyone have numbers of pet dps in wrath? or a hunters dps with one of those blue 108 dps bows with 67.5 dps engineering ammo im seeing?
I know that there might be times that both of these specs might not be useful, (close quarters combat, or a mechanical or "slime" boss)
anyone, esp in the beta, have some number crunching they can slam out?

Wait till the expansion is out, numbers are changing too often in beta to analyse.

When Beta first started and numbers started coming out, people immediately began crunching talents to decide the best build... but the following week all of it was thrown out the window because of the adjustments.
There's no definite answer right now because they're still tweaking so be patient. n_n
