Hunter PetFollow

I just started a hunter, and I really wanted an owl but the only ones I see on petopia are in Tendrasill, which I don't think I can get to. I know I can settle for a bat but my toon name is moshi and I really want an owl pet for anyone who knows who that is. How do I get an owl before like 50 if this is the case?

Okay that's what I was wondering. Whether or not it was even a possibility to even get one for horde, cause I didn't know how to get to tendrassil, I'm pretty sure it's cut off from everythiing else.

1st: you can get there. But being a horde you will die MANY MANY MANY times and have to run back to your body to die again over and over that you might find it not worth it.
Or find it will take you a few hours to get there.

2nd: This is how you would go about getting there...

We start off at Xroads. I assume you know where this is.
You go North to Ashenvale (note i don't remember exact spelling of zones >.>). From there you need to head West.

*If you don't use a map add-on, get cartographer..its nice to know where your running :p

Its actually Northwest. About half way you will come to a Ally town. It is best to swim around it to avoid being slaughtered.

Once you have made it to the next Zone (Darkshore), you now need to run north up the map. The town you want is Auberdine.
This is a Ally town as well.
Your goal is to run in (die and then explore so you know where to go) and make it to their in, run through it and get on the Docks.
Run down the docks, and at the conjunction, read the sign.
You want to goto the one that says Tendrassil (i think thats what it says).
There are guards..so try to die near the edge.
Run back to your body, and wait for the ship..when it comes..run on and try to raise up so you are not attacked again.

Now comes even more fun and more death.

The ship will take you to a small town. Run up (i think its north) and look for a weird looking tree that is glowing red. This is the portal into Darnassus.
Once in, you will be slaughtered... but I think the spirit healer is outside of Darnassus.

I would let her raise you. Find somewhere to hide, and wait for the weakend stat to wear off..
Then go get an owl. They fly near Darnassus. They range from lvl 5 to 8.

And thats that.

Does ghost running still work?

Sandinmygum has the right idea but I can provide a slightly better route. I got an owl at level 10.

As he stated, starting at The Barrens, you need to run through Ashenvale and Darkshore until you get to the town of Auberdine. Do NOT enter the town or attempt to run down the docks as you will die many times. Get into the water north or south of the town and swim to the docks. The boat to Teldrassil is on the north side of the docks, i.e., the right side if you were standing in the inn and looking out at the docks.

Drown yourself near the stern (back end) of the boat then run your ghost through the town, out along the docks and onto the boat. If you stand by the rear, right-most corner of the boat you can resurrect yourself without being attacked by the guards.
Enjoy the ride to Teldrassil.

When you get to Teldrassil you need to make it through the purple portal that you can see past the building. When I made the run, I just ran down the docks towards it until I was killed. Your ghost will appear in the graveyard in Darkshore so you will need to run back to Auberdine and take the boat (as a ghost) to get back to your body. Resurrect as close to the portal and as far from your corpse as you can, and immediately run to the portal.

It has been a while but I think I died once or twice more before I was able to resurrect right at the portal. Once you are at that point, resurrect, step through the portal and prepare to die once more. This time, however, you will be in Darnassus and your ghost will appear at a Teldrassil graveyard. Let the healer resurrect you, wait for the sickness to pass, then go get your owl.

I've read that rather than running down the dock towards the portal, you should swim to the shore and run along the hills on the left side, behind the building. By going this way you can make it farther before dying. I have not verified this though.

Owls are great pets.
