Woo I'm glad I went Boomkin for BGs >.>Follow

It's not a complaint post. I actually love my Boomkin in battlegrounds. I've gotten pretty good vs Warriors, Pallies, Priest, and Mages (non-Frost spec... curse you water element + shatter!!!). There's certian classes that give me a horrid time- Rogues and Locks... but having done BG's with my Warrior and Hunter, they always give me a hard time.

Anyway, now to the point of this post:
About a week ago I respec'd to BG Boomkin... the funny thing is- I'm leading the Healing done charts O.O Then when I go all out on trying to DPS I get about middle-top. My Gear still needs much work and enchants.

I think my average fight while with a group of people is cast one Wrath or something, then seeing my other hordies getting low on HP, so I change out and heal them up. I tend to stay out until the Alliance group is dead lol.

Sorry about the nonsense post, but it just stikes me funny. Had I known I'd be a healer in there... I'd have gone a different spec more towards healing. But, eh... gotta do what job is not getting done I suppose.

I'm feral and often throw on my resto gear in BG's. Healing acts as a massive force multiplier in a battle. 2 DPS and a healer can often take out 5 or 6 enemys who don't have a healer. It's a lot of fun and makes a nice change from feraling all the time.

It must be hard DPS'ing as Boomkin - seeing Boomkins seem to have a massive threat multiplier :) I know I go out of my way to kill them in BG's :)

I also am feral and heal in BG's. Actually bought the rep blues for this to give me some resilience. Usually change gear after a bit and tank Drek.

Tree and moonkin forms are definitely giant KILL ME FIRST signs.

Yeah, I love topping the healing meter, tanking Van & Balinda & coming near the top for HK's :)

I usually use my PvE gear, although I have recently purchased the rep resto PvP stuff to maybe try respecing for arena. It can't be worse than my feral arena with a hunter :) We struggle to maintain 1400. The only downisde is that the resto games would be much longer as you basically are relying on outlasting the other healers mana and trying to get away to drink as well. Maybe 10 quick games @ 1400 is better than 10 long games at 16-1700+ :)

Yeah I do get aimed at a lot come to think of it when I'm in Moonkin form :(

Good to see I'm not the only ones that OS heal in there. This is the 1st healing toon I ever brought in a BG after the 1st run with him seeing what a difference my small heals make in a group Vs group battle... I decided to continue just healing. I really should respec for a bit more healing, but lose boomkin and all the fun lol.

I hate going into BGs as feral. If I don't entirely respec, I at least go in with full healing gear. Moonfire EVERYONE and their pets if you don't plan on CCing them. Then heal your **** off. I can top BGs in honorable kills and healing done. One druid topped healing done and damage done. Be mindful of everything you have in your ********

thats the mark of a good druid; doing whats necessary to accomplish the goal at hand.

itll come back to you too. one day youll Q up for a BG and find a bunch of heal-specced healers who are more than happy to keep you alive while you drop the moonhammer. just dont forget to heal them when its just the two of you at BS holding off three times your number while you wait for spawn.

Although I'm classic Balance spec (48/13 I think, haven't looked at my Talent sheet in a while) I almost never use Boomkin in BGs. Aside from the avoidance of instant focus-fire, I can switch immediately between damage and healing. The extra 5% crit isn't misssed much since a lot of BG players these days have high resilience, and the heals are far more critical. If I'm going to blow someone up, I cue up HOTs on myself first so their counterattack is softened. I can also support an attack and switch instantly between healing a comrade and blasting their opponent, back and forth.

Boomkin only comes out if I'm being attacked 1 on 1 by melee. When my self-HoTs are already ticking, popping Barkskin and Boomkin usually buys enough time to sucessfully counterattack, and especially helps me outlast a rogue's cooldowns. When HoTs are done, Warstomp helps kick off a new batch of self-healing which disappears the Boomkin.
