1700!!!!!

xD

Bored of getting pwned in my R/R team (now i realice how hard is to play this team) I met a priest in my new guild, willing to play with a rogue. He is s3/s4 geared and we reach 1700 in one night. Right now we're hovering btween 1700-750 and i've some questions, before asking anything, I've watched nhempvpvid2v2 and tried to learn a few tricks, but any advice would be great.

BTW the team that is destroying us is Shaman/Warrior, any strat??
I think I have to destroy WF totems but Im sure im missing some important thing.
Any help will be great

I will try to keep this thread for further doubts.

Thanks!!

You might be missing reading the rogue sticky and(or) Theo's PvP forums. That is all. Good Luck.

Shouldn't be that hard to get on the warrior and mana burn the shaman.

MANA BURN

use it?

And learn to solo warriors. As ShS you shouldn't really be losing to one to often so get on his *** and make thier Shaman come out to heal... mana burn... profit.

Ok, i was hitting the shaman and letting my priest kite the warrior, so I was doing it completely wrong.
I'll try it that way, thank you guys

(edit)
BTW, It seems that in some teams Im not supposed to kill the healer because my priest can manaburn them...
Warrior/Pala is the same??
Should i stick to the warrior and let my priest manaburn the pally?

Im my team, totems are being wanded by my priest, not killed by me. I think it's a waste of damage.

To answer your question about healers and especially pal, I found it easier when I hit on the warrior and my priest mana burns. Otherwise, my priest takes massive damage and I can't always kill their healer as fast as my priest goes down (examples: good druids kite well or go bear to take min damage, pallies have the bubble, etc.). It's often easier to control the warrior as much as possible while your priest burns the healer. After he's got no mana, you can usually take either of them easily.

I'm feeling generous so here's a tip.

If you are getting on the Warrior... Remember they can turn around on you and knock your head off for 5k damage.

So don't blow all your cd's in the first 2 minutes. You play Rogue/healer, games last 10-15minutes, so make sure you use cooldowns at the right time.

Also, the fear>blind>sap works pretty well(make sure you priest has macros for wanding specific totems, namely tremor and WF) once their partner is under 50%. Just make sure you wait until their trinket is blown before you toss your blind out. This may take a couple of fears from the priest if they decide to eat the first one or two.

That macro thing is quite interesting, I've never think of that, would it be the same kind of macro as teh one used in Therestian?? If not, can anybody show me how to macro that?

BTW we have already been doing the fear blind sap combo, its almost essential in R/P...

Thanks for the advices!!

One more time, thanks Theo

When you talk about me soloing a warrior...Am I supposed to get him down (I mean, spending points in ruptures and so) or should I just have him stunned and controlled for the priest and wait till my partner manaburns the healer??

Against warrior/shaman it's more safe to control him, but you should be building combo points at such a rate that you can put up rupture on him as well. You should be doing a type of 5-8 kiting, really, allowing you to put up damage, then regenerate energy then put up a burst that forces the shaman to come out and forcing mana burns.

5-8 is hard in an arena setting, so don't expect to get a perfect or near-perfect 5-8 in, unlike what you should be able to do in duels.

After this I deserve being called a moron but... What is 5-8 kiting?

I've never heard of that before, BTW I'm from spain, so maybe I get lost with some terms...

5 yards is the maximum range for melee hits and abilities.
8 yards is the minimum range for a warrior to use intercept.

So basically, 5-8 kiting means you put crippling poison on the warrior and stay exactly 6 or 7 yards away from him so he can't intercept or melee you. If you can keep this up for 5 seconds you can generally restealth, re-open and do the whole thing again.

But like Theo said, doing so in an arena setting is pretty hard, mainly because one stun or CC will get you inside either the warrior's melee (=hamstring) range or inside his intercept range. One dispel poison on the warrior will cause the same problem. Still, it's always worth trying; try and stay just outside his melee range, that should do the trick.

Thanks!!

I'll try to learn to kite like that in duels and then give it a try in arenas, altought as you said it's quite difficult
