Stun Resists, HmmFollow

Recently I've been curious about how Stun resistance works. Even though it wasn't too out of the ordinary for my stuns to get resisted every now and again, after two CS resists and a KS resist on a single orc rogue, I decided to do a little research... I found very little on how the mechanics of stun resist works (yes, I know orcs get an extra 15% stun resist).

Now, would it have been safe to assume that a target's chance to resist your stuns is mitigated by hit rating? In my PvP gear (which is actually mostly my Raiding gear + trinket, s4 pants/gloves and two pieces of guardian's at the moment) I'm running around with anywhere between 120-150 hit rating so I would think that the opponent's ability to resist my stun would be fairly low.

Any information on how stun resist works or if can be mitigated by hit rating is greatly appreciated.

I have no clue. I just avoid orcs or open with Garrote.

I *think* (though am not sure at all) you start off with 0% stun rating and have it enhanced by talents/race. Orc warriors specced for it can achieve 30% stun resistance that way, at the moment.

No clue if there's a base stun resist, even though after so many years of cheap shotting I wouldn't say so.

i'm not positive but since stuns are a special attack you should only need 5% hit rating to cap 'miss'

that being said i'd believe parry/dodge can still be there, along with other talents etc.

I'm pretty positive about dodge, I can recall evasioned rogues dodging my cheap shot. Just not sure if there's an innate 'stun resistance', though I doubt it.

There's no innate stun resist. You either get it from talents, your race, or gear, or you don't have it.

You can still dodge/parry stuns (example being trying to KS a rogue from the front with evasion up), but you can't miss them if you have 5% hit.

Hit also plays no part in stun resists.
