Ok well my 70 rogue is in full merc/venge and is using glad maces.
I'm specced sub right now, and was wondering if getting merc weps would be smart. I have Malchazen from Prince, so if I went for the merc offhand dagger and then the MH fist wep or mace, I could raid combat daggers and PvP with merc MH and merc 1.4 dagger offhand.
OR would it be better to just buy both merc swords, so I can still raid kara and stuff and not be the suck

Let's see...
1) Get a fist MH and a dagger OH so you can PvP with decent weapons and spec a completely terrible spec for PvE...
Total honor needed: 27,000
or
2) Get two swords and PvP as the same spec, but PvE as combat swords, the best raiding spec in the game.

well fists look better than the swords imo, and i dont care what you say about combat swords, combat daggers can be just as effective, ive seen it myself, most of the time not, but playd right and against certain bosses it is better

Cfists is slightly (~1%) behind on DPS compared to cswords. Cdaggers is waaaay down the bottom with PvE sub.
Get the swords if you want to do your absolute best. Get the fists if you want to do slightly worse but look much cooler. Get the daggers if you're unable to read what's right in front of you, or just don't care. Granted, if you didn't care about efficiency you wouldn't post here.

I just can't stand new rogues asking for help, being answered by top rogues (or at least who I call a top rogue) and doing whatever they think (moron minded) it's the correct way to go.
I only hope theo and the others don't get dissapointed and keep helping us.

Hey, I went fists and I hopefully don't suck. I just value looking cool over ~1% raid DPS. Don't even raid on my rogue at the moment.

Well, he was raiding originally, but then we got an influx of ungeared DPS and now it's hard for him to find a weekly Kara. I mainly BG with him now.

Same here. SSO fists are a little bit better than S2, but not by much. When comparing S2 fists to S2 swords, swords will come out on top. Extra swing > 5% crit.
