Much as I love the changes, I'm unconvinced as to the viability of Mutilate. Trouble is we have two competing damage specs with precisely the same utility. If one does more damage than the other then it is strictly superior. Right now if you have three Rogues in a raid then it is optimal for all three of them to be Combat Swords. Suppose they reduce the gap so that in WotLK Mutilate is 0.01% below Combat Swords; then still given three Rogues in a raid it is optimal for them all to be Combat Swords. Even if they make Mutilate slightly ahead of Combat it won't change the problem; you'll have three identically specced Rogues.
What Assassination needs is some additional utility beyond Combat. Keep Combat as the king of dps, just make it so whenever three Rogues are together they benefit from different specs. There's a reason that in live WoW Arms Warriors, Affliction Warlocks and Survival Hunters are still used.
That said, still creaming my undies over the Mutilate change. It'll be a dream to level that's for sure.

With the changes to mut, mut is parsing very close to combat in raid DPS situations.
