Comprehensive Hunter Addon GuideFollow

#1 Aug 29 2008 at 7:17 PM Rating: Good
Hello, I have been working on this for some time now. I have put this together because I want everyone to be able to use the same things that I do so that they can further increase the quality of their gaming experience. I have also provided links for each addon after the description for your download pleasure. I am open to all suggestions, if I have missed anything or if you have found anything wrong please let me know. Thank you.

-HUNTER ADDONS-

Kharthus’s Hunter Timers-

This addon is simple to use and simple to explain. All that it does is show the cooldown on nearly everything that it is possible for a hunter to use. This includes trinkets, talents, and abilities.

Kharthus's Hunter Timers

SimpleMD-

Simple MD broadcasts your successful Misdirect casts. It can display this text in multiple chat channels or zones. It also includes your MD cast, MD fading, and MD cooldown.

-GENERAL USEFUL AND NEEDED ADDONS-

Atlasloot Enhanced-

Atlasloot is a very useful and fun addon to use. It shows all of the loot you can get from every boss in the game. They are listed underneath the names of the instances or raids. It also has craft able items, reputation items, and special event items. This can help you find upgrades or it can just be used to see how things look on you or drool over loot.

Atlasloot Enhanced

Cartographer-

Cartographer is a map addon. The point of Cartographer is to make moving around and finding things and places much easier. What it does is it gives you options on the fade style of your map, and the size of your map. Most importantly all of your map is always explored. There are no more gray areas. It also adds coordinate points, this makes finding certain items and or places much easier.

Gatherer-

Gatherer is a very useful addon that marks the places on your map where there are veins, herbs, and chests. They only show up on your map after you have used those items though. If someone in your party or guild has Gatherer and you do as well then when they mine, pick herbs, or loot a chest it will appear on your map as well.

Gatherer

Bartender3-

Bartender3 is the latest edition of the addon Bartender. Bartender is an action bar addon. Meaning that it gives you more control of your action bars. This addon is somewhat complicated and very difficult to explain. The only way I learned how to use it was by playing around with it. It might become frustrating at some points, but the end result if you get it the way you want or need it is awesome.

Bartender

Deadly Boss Mods or BigWigs-

Basically these two addons are used to warn and support you while raiding. They do things from warning you if you are too close to another player in a certain situation, timers to when the boss you are fighting will enrage, and much more. Either of these two addons will suffice for its need. They are usually required to raid.

BigWigs

Omen Threat Meter-

Omen is a threat meter. It ranks the amount of threat that each person in your party or raid is producing. If your threat exceeds that of the tank, then you pull agro and the mob you are fighting comes to attack you. It is very useful, and in most cases required to raid.

Remember, feel free to comment on things I need to improve on or add. Thanks and I hope this helped someone.

adding:

InGensu TrapMod:
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10112-IngensuTrapMod.html

This thing has made my heroics just a bit easier.

Hunter MisdirectionHelper:
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10502-HunterMisdirectionhelper.html

It works okay, but sometimes I have to use target instead of main tank (only happens with paladins it seems).

QuickStats2:

Nifty little add on that shows you AP, Crit, Armor Pen, Hit, Speed and MP5

I love it mostly for those last 3 stats that it shows. I don't have to keep my character pane open during a raid to see where my attack speed is, if I'm in range of Heroic Presence, and what kind of MP5 I have so I know what kind of shot rotation I can use.

It's especially useful for when I pop Rapid Fire right before a shaman decides to pop Heroism and Quick Shots procs. If I get too many hasting effects, I drop down to under 1.0 attack speed and I just autoshot until I get back to 1.5+

I only really use it for ZAntiDaze, ZHunterTranq, ZArcaneDispel, and ZAutoShot. The ones that use bars I have disabled.

I would recommend you make this a wiki or wikify it and I can wiki it for you. Would go good in the user guides section...

I assume this does the same thing as Bongos (bongos3)

It lets you create as many as you need, and how ever you want them laid out.
Also, you can hotkey them.
It is pretty easy, took all of 2min to figure it out.

Zhunter

It is like the Bongos3 for Hunter stuff.
But not needed if you use Bartender or Bongos..just has some other nice features within it that a hunter might find useful.

Radom screen shot of Bongos and Zhunter being used

Other things I like to use:
Titan Bar with Ammo/durability/bag space turned on.
