Updated my enchants and got some new LW recipes and grinded for the mats which now leaves me looking like this

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Aggramar&n=Th%C3%B3romin

Other than the crappy trinkets and one crappy ring to sort out how am I looking now, close enough for succesful raid inclussion?

Let me know please guys and girls

Many thanks in advance for kind critiscism and input and praise, I have tried to follow stickys in this forum to get to this point.

You have dropped an impressive amout of gold on all those craftables and BOEs.

I would say you are ready for T5 gearwise. You are certainly geared to handle anything Karazhan can throw at you. Get some pieces from Karazhan. The impression your gear leaves me is that you have not raided at all with this Hunter. (You may very well have, but I see not one piece of gear that is a raid drop - red flag in any recruiting officer's eyes.)

SSC and TK are not forgiving environments, and someone who has not raided before will have to learn fast, lest they be unwelcome at future raids. Get into some Karazhan runs. Experienced player >>>> good gear.

At the moment, shoot for the Hourglass of the Unraveller and The Bloodlust Brooch for trinkets. You might try and pick up Dory's Embrace.

If you can, try to get DST.

First thing to replace gear-wise would be your gloves. You can get T4 or the gloves out of Kara off of Maiden. Those are decent.

Your chest, bracers, boots, belt, and shoulders look fine and or great for gear at the moment.

I can't the armory to open up, so I'll just go by what's been said here. :\

Leather Gloves from Midnight are superior to the T4 gloves, so get those if you can.

For Rings some options are Angelista's Revenge (number 1 I think most people would say), the one off of The Black Stalker in heroic UB, Guardian's Band bought with Honor, or the Vindicator's band, also bought with honor.

Other than that, I'll second getting the hourglass and Blood Lust Brooch. Both are pretty sexy.

you have an awfully low hit rating, hit cap is 142. start socketing hit gems and get the head enchant from cenarion refuge

The Brutal gloves are even better. There aren't any better gloves than them until you hit T6 content.

Now here in lay a little problem I cannot solve.

With my gems and enchants on gear I have gone with AP, Stam or Agility because that is what is advised, but I cannot really fit in anything Hit Rating wise, their does not appear to be many hit rating + other stat combo Gems around.

Any advice or should I shoot for a middle line here?

Well, you have 5 gem spots. You don't have to match the colors. You can put a yellow gem in a blue socket- you just won't get the socket bonus. Take your belt for example. You can put 16 hit rating on that thing, and it will raise your DPS by 1%- if you're doing 900 DPS (where you should be at T5 content), that would by 9 DPS. If you keep that 16 ap + 3 Agi, you're getting about a 2-3 dps increase. And since you don't have a meta slot, you don't have to worry about getting the right color combo. And now that you're planning on raiding, NEVER ever ever ever EVER gem for AP. It's wasted. You will get more DPS out of an 8 agi gem than you will out of a 16 AP gem. That's because with Agi, you also get crit, and when you're in a raid, Agi scales with buffs, but AP does not.

Also, I would strongly suggest replacing that helm with the Season 2 helm. A few hours of BGs on an AV weekend, and you'll get a FAR superior helm.

I'm just in complete awe of how much money you must have spent on your gear. And this is coming from a girl who just put 3 epic gems and Nethercobra leg armor on her new pants.

hit is way too low and is the most important stat for raids (from what I've been told, I've never raided)

Well having raided a T5 hunter....your gear is good... but not T5.
You could use some badge items once you start raiding, and about 400 more Ap or so. And hit cappped or close is a must. for kara you are very well geared... should be putting out 700-800 dps eazily.

and btw most guilds running t5 stuff want 1000dps... not hard to get i do that and i am still wearing blues

There are ton of options for you that would be better than that Kara rep ring. You can drop ~20 hit rating, and getting rid of that ring will do you well. There are a ton of blues, even, that are better than that ring- like Pathfinder's Band.

You also need to scrap all those AP gems and replace them with Agi gems.

They let you raid T5 in S1? What kind of muppet is running your guild?

Ignore my PR/TR. I suck at Arena on the hunter.

Okay so some mixed response here. Some say ready for this others say not ready for that but I have now replaced my AP gems with Hit rating and agility gems, so a nice balance and I have managed to link up 3 from our guild to go along on regular Sunday night raids in Kara with another guild.

Looking forward to it and will let you know how it went Smiley: grin

Thanks for the advice peeps and keep it coming Smiley: smile

I just noticed your head enchant. If you're taking my previous suggestion about getting the S2 helm, then you have some time for this. Get Revered with the Cenarion Expedition. The Glyph of Ferocity is the head enchant that you should be looking to get. It has ~34 AP and 16 hit.

And your hit is still awfully low. You can't even hit a level 70 mob 100%. Keep running Kara and hope for some more hit rating gear, and use the badges to get the Crossbow, then the pants, the gloves, the ring and finally the chestpiece.

The Brutal Gloves are better than the badges ones.

Wouldn't take that to be the gospel. As always check Cheeky's before any upgrade. For me personally It's wildly the other way. The difference between Rapidity and Brutal under full raid buffs(~9 DPS) is larger than the difference between Brutal and GoDM that I mentioned before(~4), assuming 1X10 AGI for Rapidity and 2X8 AGI for GoDM.

There might be better places to spend your arena points.

Does this take into account the +15 agility I have on there?

I had 15 Agi enchant on all three. You might be relatively more AP heavy making the higher crit on the Brutal gloves do more, while I'm relatively more Crit heavy making the extra AP on Rapidity do more.

That's why I suggested he always consult Cheeky's. What's right for one isn't necessarily right for all.

Still, the difference is too small for me to spend all of those badges on the gloves when I could spend them on the pants or the chest.
