Does anyone know of a list that has all the current "exotic" pets one may tame with the Beastmastery talent?

I would like to start planning now. : )

Also, do you only need the talent to tame them? Like, could I switch to MM after getting my Sapphiron (Pretty, pretty please)?

Great thanks.

Overall I am liking the changes, but some still worry me. Like how each pet will only have one damage skill. I don't want to be stuck with a skill that is worse than one that pet type used to have available...

I LIKE the new pets, but I'm not sure I like them enough to go to the full talent. I've always been partial to cats. Maybe if they made an exotic feline I would go for it.

[EDIT]

Nevermind, I just found out that all the focus-dump abilities have been normalized...

I'm actually getting excited now...

The thing that conscerns me the most are the crappy stat mods that the cunning pets get without any "cunning" skills. I've said it before, the cunning and ferocity pets need to have their stats changed.

15, 5 and 5 for the ferocity

10, 5 and 10 for the cunning

I mean, why do the dps pets get 10% armor anyways? That's like letting a mage wear chain. And, 5, 5 and 5? That's like a slap in the face.

Just my two copper.

Oh, and here's to hoping they make more of the dinos exotic, and a few of the other not so exotic pets regular pets like they have done with moths and wasps.

I've posted three of the exotic pets so far on another thread here. You can see the stats and screenshots of them here: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/class.html?wclass=5;mid=121753298911517185;page=2#m1219985563273797266

Well, before now, pets were always in three categories--DpS, Tanking and Jack-of-all-Trades.

Now, those categories are more like:

-Good for Raids.
-Good for PvP.
-Good for Soloing.

I mean, while Wolves and certain talents always gave your party buffs to their DpS, they have never really directly boosted the Raid DpS.

Now, Blizz said that all buffs will be raid-wide, so Call of the Wild should give all the melee units within 50 yards a 10% AP boost for 20 Seconds. Yes, you can give it Rabid instead, but that probably will have a lower net DpS boost (not to mention giving your pet a large hate spike). They get their DpS boost to be useful, but then they get some armor for when you want to solo or they get hit by an AoE. Fine by me.

I agree that, at first glance, Cunning seems to get screwed, but not really. BM Hunters are probably still a powerhouse in WotLK PvP. I don't want to be fighting a Hunter with a put that has a lot of health, a lot of armor and deals a lot of damage. Not to mention that I may not be able to CC the pet to focus on the Hunter anymore, now that Bullheaded is around. Or Mana burn them if they take Roar of Recovery. And God forbid if I have an agile toon going against a Hunter with Wolverine Bite.

And those tanking pets are just what I expected. The last stand effect--nice. The Taunt? Nice. Taking 50% damage every 30 seconds? VERY NICE (for PvP).

I think the pets are well-balanced as far as a Beta test goes.

While they may be good for pvp, last I checked, this was mainly a pve game. Sure, there are pvp servers, and some people like to do bg and such, but no ability or pet should be designed mostly for pvp.

Now, I have no experience in the upper game, but something tells me that out of the three skills you listed, the roar is likely the only one that will really be of any use to a pve hunter.

I'm not even complaining about their skills, just that they got screwed on their stats where the other two types meet a stat standard of 25 points where the cunning only have 15.

Again, here's to hoping their get unscrewed in beta.

Actually, a HUGE portion of this game is PvP. You can break it down into three categories--Leveling, Raiding and PvP.

Once you hit cap, leveling is out the window (for your main). That leaves PvP and PvE. The Cunning pets are great for the first while Ferocity are designed for the latter.

PvP is available at any time past level 10 to all players, regardless of server.

Pets have ALWAYS been separated into categories. You have a choice, either they normalize ALL pets to be so-so at each event, or they let there be multiple types.

Blizzard gave you (five?) pet slots in WotLK and they made it so your pets will automatically level up to within 5 levels of you (when trained).

And no one is stopping you from bringing a Turtle to a raid. You won't have the maximum DpS, but who cares if your raid is okay with it? There is no reason why a worm vulture should do more damage than a tiger, just saying.

It is like being a Holy priest and ******** about your DpS against Illidan.

I get it, I do, solo pets, raid pets and pvp pets. But, that still doesn't mean that the cunning pets don't deserve to have to 25% base mods that the other two get. Are they unusable outside pvp? Yes. Are they likely to be desirable? Probably not due to their terrible stats.

I personally plan to make a Belf hunter soon, and would like for his signature pet to be a bird of prey. Either that or a wind serpent. But, both suffer from bad stats. Though, I suppose I could always go with another pet if they don't "normalize" the stats. (it's all I'm asking for!)

Love for the cunning pets!

Those ARE just beta stats you know. Maybe they will increase them all to 8%, but that will give them a 26% boost when they are already equal to the other two as far as PvP goes.
